Even after Friday night, they absolutely can win it. No team in 2024 has smoked us like that in the first 15 minutes. Lots of players to come back, they are up to their necks in it this year. Bookies aren’t dumb, $7.50 for the flag…..

Yes, injuries do play a part in a team's season. You can absolutely lose a season due to injuries.

However, you can't blame injuries when you lose disposals, contested possessions and tackles. That is either game plan or effort.

The over reliance on Curnow is borderline abuse of the poor guy
Needs shoulders like Charles Atlas to carry the whole team

Carlton need to find a way to get more team involved in scoring ( same as Freo )

But in all honesty most of them looked pretty soft out there last night , if they want to go deep in September they need to harden up collectively

He is probably being paid 10% of their cap so he should be doing the bulk of the work.

Gold Coast (H) - likely win
Port (A) - likely loss
Bombers - 50/50
Geelong (MCG) - 50/50
Richmond - guaranteed win
Giants (A) - 50/50
Bulldogs - 50/50
North - guaranteed win
Port (H) - 50/50
Collingwood - 50/50
Hawthorn - guaranteed win
Eagles (A) - likely win
St Kilda - likely win

3 guaranteed wins
2/3 likely win
3/6 50/50
0/1 likely loss

So thats 14 wins imo. Lower part of the 8 on current form.

But if they can get on a roll starting with the North game they might get into the finals on a 6+ game winning streak and do damage again.

Think that's about right atm

Looks like it's going to come down to the games that you've listed as 50/50 games - Bombers, Cats, Giants (A), Dogs, Port (H) and the Magpies.

there's a real stink about our play. some of that is injury and list related. i think we'll turn it around after a brutal few weeks of the draw.
after last year you think... gee we could land top after home and away.
then you serve up some turgid stuff against sydney, who are the benchmark so far. and some squeaky wins, close losses, poor goal-kicking... and all of a sudden you're rationalising, well, let's just make the 8 and see what happens.

i think at best we're 'one to watch'. we have amazing patches where we can smack around any team, but then go back into our shell or are curbed by tactics. we rarely play out the game as we started. voss has his work cut out to get the team to close out games, in a way we're still very much playing like a team still on the rise that hasn't got it all together.

Not mention only leave Victoria Twice more and only once in their last 10-games.

Pretty handy.

Definitely.

I see us as a 5-8 team that can do some damage in finals but won’t win the 4 games in a row required. Don’t think many sides above us would want to play us in a big game. Sydney probably one that wouldn’t mind lol.

This off-season need to target some more avenues to goal and some durable 12-30 players. But have been saying this for a while.

Is Port (a) a likely loss? Hawks are currently flogging them by 6 goals just now.

Never any guarantees in footy, except for beating North.

Carlton were never going to win the premiership this year. It takes more than one good season to build such a team. Especially for a club that hasn't been well run from the ground up and knows how to win flags, in a long time.
