Gary Rohan was the difference for the Cats, no doubt.

But what a difference a result makes, hey? If we win that game by even a point I'd probably put De Goey, Moore, Josh Daicos and Noble all ahead of Rohan.

Hopefully these guys and others can back it up this week.

Break up from the coaches would be as folliws:

Rohan 5 and 4
Moore 4 and 2
Pendles/ JDG 5 and 0 or 3 and 2
Atkins 3 and 0
Cameron 1 and 0
Selwood 1 and 0

Interesting that one coaches gave Pendles or JDG 5, but the other 0.

Collingwood's Jordan De Goey has shot to the top of the 2022 Gay Ayres Award voting after the semi-final weekend, sitting level with Brisbane's Lachie Neale.
De Goey added to his opening weekend votes tally of five with a perfect performance against Fremantle on Saturday night, where he collected 24 disposals and booted one goal.
Neale also added to his tally across the opening fortnight of September, amassing five votes while teammates Eric Hipwood and Jarrod Berry led the way in the win over Melbourne with nine votes each.
The weekend's results see Neale and De Goey tied on 15 votes from two games, while Docker Caleb Serong rounds out the top three with 12 votes of his own after adding to his tally in the loss to the Magpies.

chris scott's "admission" that he forgot about jeremy cameron in the votes last week, has completely destroyed the credibility of these awards. A flippant remark on 360 to try to match the entertainment value of mcrae has undermined how much thought coaches put into post game voting.....I saw articles questioning the importance that coaches put on them. Scott hasn't done much for the game in this instance

Saw that and agree that it was pretty poor from Scott. Nevertheless l still rate the coaches award as the premier award to win because it is the coaches who know if players are doing what is asked of them or who is doing damage to them. Remember Malthouse pulling Brad Hardie who was kick chasing rather than following team instructions. Whilst the media would be dazzled by the disposals, coaches more interested in players playing their roles rather than kick chasing.

Malthouse always had his assistants give the votes.

Don't have a problem with that because, in theory, the assistants should all be on the same page. Still any reason why Malthouse let the assistants do it?
See above mention of what was in the best interests of Malthouse for the likely answer

Crispy equal best in the PF and now outright leader. Crisp, Pendles and Moore the only Pies players to get votes.

Swan and Cat make late charge, Pies pair on top: 2022 Gary Ayres Award votes

A pair of Magpies sit atop the 2022 Gary Ayres Award leaderboard ahead of the grand final, with their chances at the crown in doubt after a rise in votes for a Cats veteran and Swans star.
Collingwood's Jack Crisp recorded an equal game-high eight votes alongside Swan Callum Mills in Saturday's preliminary final, taking his tally to 16 for September.
Teammate Jordan De Goey, who didn't poll in the loss to Sydney, sits on 15 votes, level with Lion Lachie Neale.
With Collingwood and Brisbane out of the race, Crisp, De Goey and Neale are likely to see their places on the podium fall away after the grand final, with a number of Swans and Cats in the mix for the honour.

Swans co-captain Luke Parker sits on 13 votes and in the front seat to claim the Gary Ayres Award, while Mills is just two votes behind him.
Cats superstar Patrick Dangerfield recorded a perfect 10-vote game against the Lions to shoot into consideration for the overall award.
Grand final votes for the Gary Ayres Award have a 1.5 times loading on votes, meaning those ranked among the best are well within reach of claiming top spot in 2022.
The situation means only Dangerfield, Parker, Mills and Cats pair Gary Rohan or Gryan Miers can win the award among Saturday's performers.
Bulldog Jack Macrae won the 2021 award with 25 votes to his name, a tally that can't be matched this year.

8 Gryan Miers (GEEL)
5 Tom Hawkins (GEEL)

Who was our best finals player in our opinion, regardless of what the coaches think?
Obviously Cripps.
What’s that you say? He didn’t play finals?
How does that matter? A player suspended but wins the Brownose?
Best player in the finals so Fayetteville, surely a shoe in for the Norm Smith…
The rules don’t apply to Carlton, as we all know.
