Julian Mandahl is undoubtedly an excellent player but 9 games and named in the best only 4 times? Not sure if he's done enough this year. I would have thought Mason Kip would be in there somewhere.

Official Team of the Year

FB: P. Atkinson (MTL), S. Hanrahan (CNTB), A. Rompell (WG)
CHB: B. Smith (WG), R. Lawrence (BHN), R. Milne (PC)
C: D. Dimmitriou (MTL), R. Walmsley (CNTB), T. Bell (MC)
CHF: A. Thorne (MTL), S. Potter (PKS), P. Butler (NB)
FF: B. Gallagher (NB), D. Collins (WG), A. Baker (CNTB)

Mids: S. Fitzgerald (CNTB), M. Culliver (WG), S. Mclaren (PKS)

I/C: D. Penny (BHN), M. Kip (PC), D. Bennett (CHAD), J. Perrins (PC)

Coach: M. Harper (CNTB)

Decent effort IMO. However I think Mt Lilydale are over represented (3 players) given they will likely finish 7th.

Would like to have seen 1 more BHN player named and Penny as a starter.

Count By Team
Canterbury - 4
Westbourne - 4
Point Cook - 3
Box Hill North - 2
Parkside - 2
North Brunswick - 2
Mt Lilydale - 3
Manningham - 1
South Mornington - 0
Masala - 0
Chadstone - 1

Seems that they've tried to balance out the numbers from teams rather than actually trying to name the 'team of the year'

Atkinson, Dimmitriou and Butler lucky to make the team. I'd have Friel, Dawson and Toikalkin in the team instead.

Dimmitriou will play his 10th game this week. How does he make it when he hasnt even played 2/3 of the season??

Hanrahan full back? If he is a true full back, collins kicked 7 on him and potter kicked 6. thats not a worthy full back.

Hanrahan doesn't play full back. A very worthy member of this side who has had a sensational season. And just quietly, Potter played CHF against us both times. I assume he plays CHF most of the time.

Last round. Good luck to teams going to play finals and enjoy the summer for those missing out.

South Mornington vs Masala
Chadstone vs Box Hill North
Parkside
vs Manningham
Point Cook vs Mt Lilydale
Westbourne vs Canterbury
North Brunswick - Bye

Wouldn't have had any of those 3 in my side.

Actually think Canterbury and Westbourne and BHN a bit stiff. Quality there that's not spoken about.
Mason Kip on the bench is a laugh.

Butler is deservedly in there.

Those who are stiff:

Peel, Wilson, Lowden (if Dimitrou got selected then Lowden has done enough)

Tilley and Liistro at BHN

Raso and Pianto at Manningham

Huddo, johns at Westbourne.

Fixture showing a top 4 finals series...

Just quietly south mornington tanking their 1s and loading up their 2s for finals?? Results from masala game suggests that

What happened?
6 send offs, sniped all day. Generally carried on like flogs, didn't hand around like a beer.

Masala and Mt.Lilydale two clubs given a bath at point cook but no humility to come in for a drink.

But the way they carried on all day they were probably embarrassed.

And the way you guys played was fare? Punches to the back of the head after the plays? Don't think it's was all mt buddy.

Got to be kidding.

You blokes had a mathematical chance of playing finals, the s**t you produced today was rubbish. Pushing a boundary umpire, all day you carried on like flogs.

Bit different when you haven't got cheating umpires up in the inbred hills.

The only time you weak dogs showed fight today was when blokes weren't looking.

All during the same week the vafa sent out a memo about behavior. Clearly the carrier pigeon died on its way to Lilydale.

Your probably cooking it on a shopping trolley over a fire now after scraping it off the road.

Cmon table tennis... your quick to forget about your bloke getting the straight red a few weeks ago for the off the ball incident!

Yeah after a retaliation after be copped the first one. You won't get an argument from the nth brunny guys who completely agreed and requested after the game to throw out the charge. Our bloke did the wrong thing, got caught, and felt the wrath of the club for doing so, and now has a battle to play a final next week.

Vafa website up and about with only four finalists taking part next week.

Maybe Sholly was right and there is final 4 in all divisions.

Bloke is a muppet, but funnily enough not the biggest muppet at headquarters!

Good luck to the four finalists, bad luck to the 5 & 6, you have been dismissed.

Wouldn't stress too much, I'm sure a call to sporting pulse about the format will be made and rectified pretty quickly

Would be an absolute shocker if true especially after advertising next weeks games in the Record as a final 6 format!!

Agree with TT that this will be rectified in the next day or two.

Knowing the venues would be nice!

You'd think Canterbury and North Brunswick would have both 1's and 2's at the same venue as they play each other in both games whilst Westbourne have their 1's & 2's at the same venue also.

I reckon 1 v 6 and 2 v 5 in the 1's will be played Saturday and 3 v 4 on the Sunday.

Last time round they were all played on the same day to avoid collusion of results. If 1&2 both win on the Saturday, 3v4 is almost a non event as both play the week after.

3&4 in both seniors and reserves is Point Cook v Box Hill.

Venues rumoured are Garvey, St.Bernards and PEGS.... Rumors

Canterbury v North Brunswick 1's & 2's at Scammel Res on Saturday

Point Cook v. Box Hill North 1's & 2's at Garvey on Saturday

Westbourne games at PEGS on Sunday.

Bit stiff for Westbourne who will effectively get a 6 day break!!! No advantage for finishing second and first respectively!

Classic Vafa, so the benefit for finishing 2 is a 6 day break opposed to 7 and no guaranteed promotion after winning a final. If all goes as it should 1, 3 and 4 have the most benefit.

#vafa getting it right for 100 years.

Sholly is a muppet
