see kids drinking these things walking to school at 8am. To me they should be an 18+ thing like Alcohol

The closest that I have to an energy drink is a Lucozade, and even then I only used that just past half distance in the Melbourne Marathon. Tried the energy drinks in the past and struggled to stomach the taste.

I used to love Lucozade as a teenager (mostly through being influenced easily by soccer culture...). It tasted like a fizzy cough medicine or something but I really liked it. Probably only had two or three a year though and even then, it's more in line with a coke or Powerade than a Red Bull.

These energy drinks are still the devil though. Why kids drink them is beyond me, obviously they're shocking for your health, but the taste is rank and heavy and at 8am? I could not think of much worse.
