This post will always be on the agenda as all football leagues want to expand or to cover losses of member clubs. We see that the Ellinbank DFL which is now part of a growth corridor in the Sth East seeking to expand and introduce "divisional" football. Hence the interest in Gembrook and Tooradin.
It would be most prudent if the YVMDL and EFL looked at forms of amalgamation. Its is fair to say that EFL Div One is the best senior football with Div 2 not far behind with that said. If their was ever to be an amalgamation of both leagues The New look EFL could look like this.
Current EFL "New" Division Combination of EFL and YVMDFL
Division One = Premier League. No Change (Existing EFL)
Division TWO = Division One EFL with a Couple Top YVMDL Div One
Division Three = Made up of Top Div3 EFL and Top YVMDFL Div One Sides (Could be development Division)
Division Four = (Creative accounting) Geographical Metro East
(Creative Accounting) Geographical Mountain District
(Creative Accounting) Geographical Yarra Valley
This must only be viewed on as proposal and would still require a lot of fine tuning before it got to first base, but it still IMO as a discussion point.

What is the point of the way you see it when fact says otherwise? Pointless Exercise.
No promotion to Premier (wank of a name - why follow other comps that don't like it?) for 5 years also absurd. Nothing to aspire to for teams below, & the natural attrition of struggling sides also works well.

Ok.. I laud your enthusiasm. However... this has to be one of the biggest loads of cow manure i have seen written recently.
What would the lower divisons think of the lack of promotion to Div1 for 5 years? What would the Scoresby of next season(whoever that may be) think of no relegation?
Why would all those YVMDFL and VAFA clubs cross over to EFL div 5 including a Southern club , Oakleigh, who are only two finals series from the VAFA pinnacle and would push DIV2 in EFL and a Northern club in Ivanhoe who would be in the NFL if anywhere? Why also would Yarra Glen who have just been promoted to DIV1 YVMDFL accept a move to DIV 5?

Agree - biggest load of rubbish I've read in here for ages. Apart from the fact that none of the YV clubs would want to move, your proposal has them completely mis-matched.
