Anybody got any ideas on how to make/save money in this? Im playing as Barnet, ive trimmed my squad as much as i can, yet am still running running at a loss of about 30,000 pound a month. ive arranged a few mid week friendlies every now and then but that only really gets me a few thousand if im lucky

Is there a way to do that mid game?
Make a board request for a senior affiliate. Gives you about 100k and you get first pick at their young loan options.

Cut or loan out anyone who is on higher wages than you think they should be (provided that aren't a key player). Be ruthless, even sell for less than they're worth or release them if it means you save money on wages.

Also pre season - play plenty of pre season friendlies. Away games against big clubs are good for money, but can be bad for morale. Play a couple of really weak teams right before the season to boost morale. Tours through regions/countries are good for income and also exposure as they may result in more merchandise sales.

Sign players on frees.

As Juddy88 said above, smash out friendlies that give you the most cash and then pummel a few teams a week before the season starts. Don't know how far into the game you are, but scour wherever you can for cheap/free regens that you can resell for a quick profit.

In the lower leagues you're never going to be making money, so I really wouldn't worry about it. Only time you'll hit a positive balance is when you reach the prem.

Started my very own 1000 year sim.
30 or so years in and im taking a break.

chelsea/arsenal/tottenham shared the first 10 years of titles
Then Manchester City went and won 14 in 15 or something ridiculous like that.

FC United made it to League 2 then imploded just getting relegated from conference north this past season. :(

Any Leicester trophies?

I just paused it in the offseason of 2062/63 to check that.
Since I said Manchester City were dominating it, Manchester United has taken over the Premier League :(

Having said that.

I just got my 7th different champion!

West Ham won it!

Ferguson Park, wow - what is there season avg attendance?

Almost deserves a thread of it's own tbh. Outstanding (and fun to see which clubs come from nowhere).
I set one up on the game story sub-forum here

btw - talking about which clubs come from no where.
There is a new dynasty in the 10 years since that thread.
They were competing but couldn't crack the title in this last update

hint - They're a current (In real life) League 1 side.
