This has been happening for 2 full seasons already...

Even up to the late 90s before rotations were a thing and you just had your best 18 out there short of injuries or tactics, it wasn't rare for a player to stay on the bench for the whole game - same thing would have happened to their stat averages then, too

I distinctly remember Brett Chalmers doing that for Adelaide under Robert Shaw in 1996 in a game Crows lost
