Garageband USB Connection to Yamaha Clavinova-501

So I'm attempting to connect my Yamaha CVP-501 keyboard to my Mac and use it as a keyboard to record music onto Garageband. I've connected the USB cable and was unable to find any new input or outputs. I downloaded and installed a driver from the Yamaha website onto the laptop however this hasn't worked and i'm still having issues getting the laptop/garageband to recognise the keyboard.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Is anyone able to help with connecting it?

Have you tried multiple USB ports? Also, make sure the keyboard is plugged in before opening Garageband.
