You must start to ask questions about the England setup at the top level. Their base systems that sit underneath are better than ours, but everyone that goes into the England Lions and above seems to go backwards. It just seems to lurch from crisis to crisis. That changed the Captain at the 11th hour when it was probably too late and I dont know whether Hales is the answer, but given some of the side hackers that are cutting loose thus far, surely he is worth a go at the top. Bell can bat anywhere, then you have Root, Taylor and Morgan with Butler.

So in a week's time it is essentially:
Australia v Sri Lanka for 2nd spot (winner to avoid playing South Africa in quarter finals)
Bangladesh v England for 4th spot (winner to make quarter finals)

England vs Bangladesh on Mon the 9th will most likely determine 4th spot in the group. (Assuming the other games go to script)

Wouldn't be surprised if Bangladesh get over the top of a very ordinary English side.

Their press would go mental if they miss the quarters!

Yep. Get your Pommy mates to say out loud that they need to beat Bangladesh to stay in the World Cup.

Nice and slow ... and out loud.

I've done it this arvo. Works a treat.

What an absolutely insipid performance by England only managing 1 wicket for the match. Somebody book their flights home for them they are simply making up the numbers.
Mind you well done Srilanka good win

Just got home and saw the result, yes! Love your work Sri Lanka, can't wait to see the British Press go off. Come on Bangladesh.

I don't think their batting has looked that bad recently TBH. Seems like their bowlers lose the plot too easily though.

the batting lineup put up a score and the bowlers have flopped. Broad and Anderson have some bad figures for this tournament..
Both have them have been garbage on this whole tour a long including the carlton series. Neither of them will be dropped .

Its in NZ on postage stamp grounds, if its flat you need 350+

Rest of our games are now in Australia so should be right

Being 'right' may depend on Warner & Finch & Smith hopefully getting amongst some consistent runs. For some reason the golden haired boy Watson is allowed to continue on, game after frigging game & get SFA runs & SFA wickets. The Clarke is under the pump, the Maxwell is just so hit & miss. Marsh is another golden haired boy, young, promising but done SFA really.
Why do the media (Ch 9) continue to discount & belittle Bailey? He has shown himself as a steady hand who can hit when he needs to. Why did selectors dump Bailey & take so many obvious batting risks into the NZ game?
