I think he means me. I didn't think I had to be an expert on all things Russia...

Well, that's where you're wrong :p

It's an iconic landmark mate. One of the most famous places on earth

I could name at least twenty places, if not more, that I'd say are more famous.

At the end of the day, it's a non issue. So let's wait and see if any more fantastic designs are submitted for this competition instead of arguing over how iconic a landmark may or may not be.

I'd have the Kremlin above the Palm Islands, Wembley and Yankee Stadium. Also, Maccas in the top 3 is a must :thumbsu:

Yeah, the Kremlin could have easily made my list. But I was trying to make a point. However, Wembley and Yankeee Stadiums are actually really well known.

I have to say that I'm shocked theres no Australian icons. Like Uluru or the Great Barrier Reef

Sydney Opera House is in there. I was just going for man-made landmarks.

Then define the two word 'well known' and 'iconic' and see where the differences lie.

Way i see it in my head, iconic is something the majority of people would recognise and associate with the place, etc.
Well known would imply that it's simply known by a lot of people but it isn't what they see as the defining feature of a city/town/whatever

basically for something to be iconic it has to be well known but something can be well known without being iconic

So you're saying that the only difference is the landmarks association with its vicinity.
