Josh Gibson- vindication?

Not sure why we don't like the guy? He couldn't get a run in our back line so he left. We got good compensation. Why do we still care?

After North promoted him from the rookie list, and looked after him when he incurred a severe head injury, he was still a required player when he left.........apparently because
a) he was not guaranteed a walk-up start at North (matter of opinion), but he would be at Hawthorn, who were short on defenders
b) he was offered more money by Hawthorn, more than North was willing to match
c) he thought Hawthorn was going places and we weren't
d) he thought there would be more prospect of partying and getting his face in the papers at Hawthorn
e) all of the above?

Take your pick.

I think the majority view is we wish a bloke like Hale all the best, and Gibbo can suck balls.

Pretty much sums it up.

There is nothing wrong with having contempt for Gibson, yet having respect and affection for Hale. Mirrors how they treated our club.

Not sure I'm really liking all the Hale love here.

Anyone recall the missed set shots (one early on - ostensibly from 25m out)? Missed another critical late one as well.
Hale has gone from someone that couldn't take a contested mark but could kick straight to a guy that is a good contested mark but can't kick!

Have a look at the footage of Gibson's effort in that frantic last quarter when Jack ends up kicking the goal in the goalsquare.

He was in the frame at the start of the passage, and should have attacked the contest, but when Jack finally kicks the goal he is nowhere to be seen, because he dropped off and squibbed it.

It was a lack of pace combined with not being prepared put in a 1 on 1 effort, for which there is no excuse.

Embarrassing footage for Squibson, and some justice for North fans

Also got pick 71 Ben Mabon

Draft history: 2005 Rookie Draft selection (North Melbourne) No. 7; 2005 rookie elevation (North Melbourne); 2009 NAB AFL Draft traded by North Melbourne for No. 25 (Aaron Black) and No. 41 (Ayden Kennedy).

That is from the Hawthorn profile for Gibbo.

Squibson is now a dual premiership player.
