JOSH KENNEDY CENTURY COUNTDOWN

Updated after Friday night - Riewoldt 1.2, Gunston 3.3, Breust 0.0

Kennedy - 56*
Cameron - 44*
Riewoldt - 43
Franklin - 42*
Bruce - 41*
Betts - 41*
Gunston - 40
Breust - 39

Asterisks have yet to play. Riewoldt, Gunston and Breust probably out of it now. Riewoldt is closest of that group, would need a big bag to catch up and then to continue steadily the rest of the way. Season high of 6, has kicked 4 four times. Gunston and Breust split too many with Roughead, Puoppolo and Rioli for any of them to seriously make a charge to catch up. JK, Franklin and Cameron the ones to watch from here on in.

Just having a look at his 2nd half of the year. Hasn't been able to kick a bagful since 6.4 against Geelong in Round 9. Been really consistent and done well to get his 2 or 3 every week though. Looks quite sore to me. Paying closer attention in the past few weeks, he's getting a lot of deep kicks kicked onto his head often with a defender competing well and with arms all over him and usually a 2 on 1. Need better kicks into him. Is due for a big one!

Round 18- 2 goals
Round 17- 3 goals
Round 16- 3 goals
Round 15- 2 goals
Round 14- 2 goals
Round 13- Bye
Round 12- 3 goals
Round 11- 3 goals
Round 10- 3 goals

There's no chance of him kicking 70 with the continuous molesting he encounters before the ball even arrives with no support from the umpires.

Our kicking into of late hasn't been clean either.

Kennedy - 58
Franklin - 45

Riewoldt - 43
Betts - 42
Bruce - 42
Gunston - 40

JK needs to lift, but the chasers aren't exactly banging down the door to catch up. Cameron and Franklin remain the biggest threats, JK just needs to keep it up at 3 a game or hit a big bag next week :)

Well on a bleak night Kennedy continued his good goal kicking form against the Hawks with 4 in a low scoring contest, can only play against the bottom 8 sides though apparently?

Pos Player Club Goals
1 Josh J. Kennedy West Coast Eagles 62
2 Jeremy Cameron GWS Giants 46*
3 Lance Franklin Sydney Swans 45
4 Jack Riewoldt Richmond 44
5 Eddie Betts Adelaide Crows 44
6 Chad Wingard Port Adelaide 44
7 Luke Breust Hawthorn 42
8 Josh Bruce St Kilda 42*
9 Taylor Walker Adelaide Crows 41
10 Jack Gunston Hawthorn 40
*yet to play

With Franklin's back acting up again, Cameron looks like the only one who can catch him.

Glad to see him kick the big 4 against the Hawks. Throw the house on it now. Only way he'll lose it from here is Cameron kicking 8 today.

62 goals is his highest season tally of his career, he had 61 last year and 60 the year before that (and 59 in 2011).

Another four goals for the year would see him go past Quinten Lynch's total of 65 in the 2006 premiership year, which is currently the biggest total this century.

Only three Eagles have kicked 70 goals in a season:
1988: Glendinning 73 goals
1990: Sumich 90 goals
1991: Sumich 111 goals
1992: Sumich 82 goals
1993: Sumich 76 goals
1999: Cummings 95 goals

If I see him de-accelerate into another supposedly "easy mark" only for it to be spoiled I will yell some "healthy criticism."

Still having nightmares about the GCS game where he did this twice.

Has his favorite team this week he has kicked 35 goals 8 from 10 games against the doggies :thumbsu:

Was great today.
Probably deserved more than 2.
I was a little disappointed that McGinnity picked up the ball in the last and goaled.
Thought for all money it was going to bounce through.

So did I but on the replay it had plenty of backspin and spun up on the grass and lost momentum. If he left it the ball couldve stopped in its tracks on the next bounce.

You dont take those sorts of chances in moments like that. If he left it, ball sat up and then he fumbled or someone tackled him we would all be calling for his head. He did the right thing

Should kick four this weekend

Great effort from Wingard and Betts too. Love the fact that any type of player can succeed in AFL
