Jumper clash fails

That's what happens when people are more interested in buying the latest merchandise and eliminating non existent "clashes" than clubs retaining a clear identity.
Actually it is completely the opposite.

Newcastle and Sunderland are fierce local rivals they stupidly rarely play in any of their multiple away kits.

Why you may ask, because "traditionally", both clubs have worn their home kits for their encounters.

It is basically the same as Carlton fans rationale for thinking popping on white shorts is ok against Essendon and Collingwood, but will use an away kit against Fremantle or Adelaide.

For 100 years we played each other both wearing the home kit, so it is tradition, the red sash and navy blue are the identities! We cant play our traditional local rivals in a random away kit...as that aint Carlton.

Wasn't the only fail of the FA Cup weekend. Understand the very good reason Arsenal wore white strips against Liverpool, but good luck picking out players given in their wisdom the numbers were also white and player names removed from the back of their jerseys.

Hopeful prediction - this will be much better this season. I get the impression that Dillon and Kane whilst not natural leaders, are the types of people you have meetings with and actually get s**t done. Its such an easy fix

Interested to know if the punters considered this to be acceptable from the NFL Superbowl?
Many here believe it's an issue if, say, Ess, Rich, Carl or Melb wear white shorts against a North or Geelong. If we agree that's silly, then you could make the case that the colour combo pictured is even worse because the white NFL pants account for a much larger % of the uniform than our shorts. Seems the Yanks didn't have too much issue with it. I guess they do have the added differentiation from the helmets.

It's not good, but the nature of the game where the teams face each other rather than being mixed all over the ground mitigates the issue a bit.

It's not ideal but as already noted it's not a 360⁰ game so you pretty much always know which team is which by the direction they are facing.

Helmets add another colour difference too
