No Clearance in for Durwood, surely he would have been contracted to Ardmona. Inducements to break contracts are unlawful, you would have to assume that he had shopped himself around.

Ardmona have let him go. Club have cut all payments and couldn't afford to pay their agreed contracts. Didn't win a bidding war, he will be on less at Merrigum than he was previously paid. He has played with about 10 of the guys previously, we have talked to Tom in previous seasons and the opportunity arose, timing is crazy and very fortunate indeed.

If they can't afford to pay contracts this year how will next year be?? Difficult is a small understatement!! Treasurer must be good at their job or is there more 2 the story?
Club never paid league fees as far as I can gather and the league sent an email come up with the money quick smart or the club will be stripped of points and no finals and couldn't afford to pay the contracted players anymore after forking out that.

Obviously Lanky and Merrigum are in a position to have a crack at players at the last moment.
Need to have the means and the connections to do so.
Can they catch Nagambie? 2 months to glue it together.
Stanny have plenty to burn and have spoken to plenty in the last day or so.. They could end up landing a few aswell..

What position does he play? Might struggle to play ones when the are nearly 190% above the next contender! Wouldn't think they'd need to recruit anymore players.

Unfortunately the Bushcats haven't had the same support this year as they did last year, they would have backed themselves to make the money and improve on their efforts of last season. Their cashflow projections for gate, social etc. have been far below what was expected.
Obviously it's great for us to get a guy like Tom. Very sad to see this pan out though, the efforts of Youngy and co Over the last 18 months have been admirable.
Yep not good for Football. Let's hope the points system and cap will help to relieve the pressure on committees and prevent this situation happening.
Don't want to rant on wheresyourdidak but based on recent results it would appear Ardmona have needed every one of the points and $$'s they spent to remain competitive . I honestly do appreciate the KDFL but unfortunately nearly all you seem to here these days is which club has recruited player x . It probably does improve the standard and have more potential recruits attracted to the league but where does it end . Rumours seem to be getting stronger that there will be more KDFL clubs struggling financially and may not see 2016.
Great to here of the work grasskat and Andrew hipwell are doing in their respective clubs , perhaps that where all clubs in all leagues need to focus to remain sustainable 'YOUTH' .
