Malthouse claims Trigg admits Adelaide had Betts 'stitched up' with 18 months to go on his contract

Malthouse on sen indicated trigg told him we had edrie stitched up 18months out.

Makes sense, that means we won him over half way through 2012 when we were on top of the ladder with Kurt Tippett still a contracted crow. Bet Eddie wondered if he had made the right decision a few times over that 18 months.

Malthouse is full of s**t. Deflecting attention away from crap recruiting/trading. Seriously, they screwed alot up. However, it also needs to be noted , betts is a different player back in his home state. He's drinking from the fountain of youth.

This is the one week where we need Eddie to be at his best. Sure it's been great seeing him kick 5-6 goals against Port and St.Kilda, but against the top team in the competition, it's now that we need those types of scores. 5 from Eddie, 3 from Tex and a couple to Lynch and Jenkins should see us win this game

Mick said triggy said it to him in the context of don't take it personally, eddie leaving, as adelaide had him stitched up 18 months previously.
Trigg has serious foot in mouth.

Would be better for all if he just zipped it!

We should all just back up a bit and take Malthouse for what he is. He is fighting for his job, he has had a very public disagreement with Trigg. Now he's talking out of school. Is it only his word that this conversation happened?

He tries to make himself appear clever and articulate, but all he does is tie himself in knots and sound like a lying flog.
He's been trying to put out fires all week... with kerosene

He seems to have the happy knack..

Some blokes have ability to talk for 30 mins without actually saying a thing, eg. Brendan Gale. Others like Trigg seem to only be able to evade saying something for about a minute.

I love how the hosts/callers say how that's against the rules etc as if we're the only club to have done so with a player.

Gaze was the only one that almost briefly touched on it where players can verbally commit which is basically what everyone does, it's not as if Franklin/Sydney decide post September a 10 year/million dollar deal is going to happen. Phil Davis gave us a heads up during the season, it happens every year (rightfully or wrongfully) so I thought it was pretty laughable they wasted any time on that part of it.

He didn't just give us the heads up, he actually announced it during the season.

The Betts deal wouldn't be any surprise, it's how they are done now, the AFL rules are guidelines until they choose to enforce them.

Look at Tippett, he was stitched up at least 6 months before he left (Cometti is on record as saying that he was told part way through the season that Tippett was heading to Sydney and the deal was done when Adelaide had the bye that year).
Then you have Franklin and Ablett.
Now let's have a look at when Davis and Bock were locked in.
Like the Tippett EPP issue, the AFL choose to overlook what, who and when they choose it suits them.
Luckily The Greek Gangster is no longer in charge.

Getting the feeling that Triggy has been hit by the Karma bus and its just about to reverse over him to finish the job.

People already calling for his head over his handling of the Carlton coaching debacle.
