Toast Matthew Boyd 250 games

This was mentioned in the changes thread, but I believe it warrants its own.

A brilliant effort for Boydy coming from the rookie list, to captaining the club in a time of dire need, and now reaching this milestone that very, very few make it to.

3x B&F
2x AA
And just quietly having a fantastic season as well.

Congratulations Boydy. A true warrior of the club :thumbsu:

Congratulations Boydy. Such a fantastic player and captain for our club for a long time. Commands respect. His resurgence this year has been phenomenal and it's great to see him hit #250. Good on him, and thanks for everything.

Also a toast to Koby Stevens for his 50th with the Dogs. :thumbsu:

Boydy, one of the great clubmen that we've seen. Congratulations and hopefully we can make it a memorable one for him in front of a good crowd.

Boydy epitomises the word stalwart.

An elite mid in the prelim years, and now excelling in defense at the age of 32 despite questions over his disposal and ability to adapt.

A pillar of our club during our best and worst times. Congratulations, Matthew Boyd.

Players like Matthew Boyd, who did not have it handed to
them yet persisted and hacked through the jungle with
a machete to finally reach a clearing deserve the most
praise when they attain greatness. They can measure
most things on the GPS units nowadays, but you can't
measure heart and resolve (250) is awesome (300) is
a nice number also.

Gun. One of our best players over the last decade. Good to see (much like Gia) people appreciating him in his latter years instead of focusing on a few of his negatives. Used to love Cross and Boyd as a combo.

Hopefully he can stay fit and push through another year in the back six.

Congrats Boydy, one bloke you know will always give 100% every week, a great effort considering he came off the rookie list originally.

He has stuck fat with the club even though it was clear McCartney thought he was finished last year and it's great for him that he has adapted to Beveridge's ways and has became as important as ever in his new role, hopefully he can carry on a little longer and end his career on a high.

Moyd is one of the great "On the Cheap" players that make AFL football what it is. Well done Matty Boyd, grit and professionalism. Well deserved 250 and Proud Son of the Scray!

Great achievement by Boydy, especially for someone starting on the rookie list. He hasn't always been appreciated on this board or gotten the credit he deserves at times, but will go down in history as a club great. I thought he should have kept the captaincy, but either way he's been a crucial player for many years. Even now, whether by coincidence or not, we are 7-3 with him and 0-2 without. He should definitely go on next year, and retire on his own terms when the time comes. Achievements :thumbsu:

3 time Best & Fairest: 2009, 2011, 2012

Western Bulldogs Captain: 2011, 2012

Twice All-Australian: 2009, 2011

BTW was going to start this thread but you beat me to it Igloo - great minds think alike :)

Averaging a DE of 80% this year compared to an average of 60% before.. Quite a jump and improvement from years before with the new position

Great to see him get there, should never have lost the captaincy, congratulations.

The 32-year-old will play his 250th game on Saturday night when the Bulldogs face Carlton at Etihad Stadium.

Out of contract at the end of the year, he knows decision time is looming - and that the eighth-placed Bulldogs are on the rise, making another season tempting.

Still remember him debuting against Freo at Etihad in 2003 and being the only Dogs player who friggen tried on the day. (Well Scott West probably tried but you know what I mean.)

Well done Boydy.
