People cheer on the underdog. In the past two years we've had two first year clubs getting regular thumpings to cheer on. Look at the lolport going on in the Port v GWS gameday thread, even though I'm pretty sure most from outside SA could barely give two shits about them.

The hysteria was also massive when GC beat Richmond (twice) and Port last year.

Maybe being a heavy favourite for a match is a foreign concept to you guys.

No sane person would take Melbourne's youngsters over Brisbane's young players so why you're pursuing this is bewildering. Redden, Rockliff, Rich, Zorko and Hanley are better than Melbourne's entire list.

Polec hasn't shown a lot, but he has been injured. He's also only 19 and has only played 15 games.

Had 20 touches and 7 inside 50s vs Geelong this year as well, and shown glimpses from what I've seen.

Not sure however why we're talking about Brisbane youngsters in this thread.

If he's such a spud than Melbourne's development has only taken him backwards, the club itself is to be blamed. Polec is an absolute gun, you're comparing a 19 year old in his first real season against Morton who is almost 23 and has 70 games. The verdicts out on Morton, Polec has plenty of time to show his elite tallent.
