Review Nat Fyfe.

Fyfes weapons have well and truly gone.
He Can't burst through packs like he used to, he is really slow and keeps getting pinged with the ball.
Unfortunately because of his age and past injuries he can't take a contested mark like he used to.
He never tackled and he can't kick to save his life.
He is unfortunately a million dollar liability.
And him being a unique sort of a bloke would not help with team dynamics either.
He should bow out and tea bag around prevelly for a while.

Lol.

I highly doubt he'd be the difference this Saturday night.

Agreed. Too many are getting their knickers in a knot over people not being distraught about Fyfe being out. Sure, with a full pre-season he might get back to his best. But, at the moment, if you can honestly sit there and say that Fyfe is currently best 22 on his output since coming back then you are delusional. People are getting hung up on what Fyfe was and not what he currently is. Finals is not the time for sentiment hence why Melbourne didn't play Nathan Jones in the GF last season despite being the one player that deserved a flag.

Mate relax. He has bailed us out in the midfield multiple times this year. Also playing a HF role will be less taxing on his body and allow him to play to his strengths.

Mate let it go. He is done. Every time he has been near the team in the last few years we have regressed.

What a load of crap. Modern AFL requires a preseason which Fyfe had none. Let’s not write him off yet for the rest of his days. I recon still has a lot to offer and will sign on for more years at reduced money when required.

There were a lot on here sprouting exactly the same kind of nonsense about Mundy and Walters needing to be canned at various times this year. Talk about premature ejection.

Fyfe will play no meaningful part in this year's finals, but a full pre season and he will be a weapon again next year.

He is, and always will be a Freo legend.

He is done and he seems to cause a rift amongst the team. he is an athlete not a footballer.

When he recovers from his hammy, would it be worth having as the Sub?

If he's 80% I'd bring him in as the sub. This might be controversial, but it's worth consideration.
If everyone else is fit and he's 80%, for team balance, he fits best as sub for me.

Freo are close to losing Logue and Acres over chump change not because of Jackson but because Fyfe is getting paid over a million next year while he has only played a handful of games this year and not played that well in any of them.

If Fyfe got paid what he is worth next year then we'd fit them all in plus Jackson.
So, as I understand it, you are mad at Fyfe for signing a contract that was for his value at the time. FMD

Just because you want to be right doesn't mean you have double down and say something like this - if a dual Brownlow medalist is an athlete not a footballer? Sheesh - getting a bit close to outright insulting our game regardless of who you support if you don't think Fyfe is a footballer.

Mate, you could not be more wrong! He was a skinny-as-a-rake teen with extremely raw, yet sound, footy attributes that lacked a lot of what recruiters consider within the athletics basket.

The fact you even think he is an athlete first fundamentally disproves your point that he's not going to improve because he's already convinced you of something he previously wasn't.

Fyfe is a gun and deserves more respect. If not respect, at least intelligent arguments.

Fyfe is not done.

Down, but not done. Watch him roar again in 2023.

Never write-off champions.
Agreed

Last year Paddy Cripps was mentioned on here as a possible recruit but looked slow and past it last year
Then he has a full pre-season and is back to his very best in 2022

Same with Neale as Brisbane...looked sluggish and on the way out last year and then has a big pre season and is back to his best

Don't underestimate Fyfie
...he will be back

He will be back if he can remain uninjured. If not he'll have recieved 2 million dollars over two years while Freo have to low ball new contracts

I'm so glad that as a supporter group we've proven once again to be better than the other mob in WA who revere their champions to the point that they become immortal and can do no wrong in their eyes, however, I think some of the Fyfe criticism is a little unreasonable.

He kicked 3 goals while also changing the tide of the midfield against the saints. He's had a shocker with injuries the last 18 months, give the man a break.

The bloke who held the VFL/AFL record for brownlow votes per game for the first seven or so years of his career is an athlete, not a footballer?
