Past Player Of The Week - Nick Ries

I really enjoy this series by Jane Doe very much....That does not however preclude one from offering an opinion be it either positive or negative.

The fact that Ries played 81 games says more about the state of our list back then than it does anything else. Kyle Cheney would have played over 200 games for us in THAT side!

Oh, And....A spud is a spud is a spud!

i believe the 6 named were on the back page of the Hun back in the day, i'll try and look it up, but i believe Osborne was 1 named
Yep, back page of the Herald-Sun, on a Friday
We were playing Collingwood that night, and Parkin said we had too many "Mummies Boys" in the side and couldn't win
He was implying we weren't a very big or physical side to match the best (he was spot on)!

We beat Collingwood by (I think) 10 points

I remember the game from Crawfs run late in the last quarter from deep in the back pocket, down the wing to half forward, Rayden Tallis coming in to lay a big shepherd on a chasing Pie, and his kick to deep in the forward pocket to Simon Cox, who marked, played on and snapped the sealer!
