Hopefully this wont turn into a shitfest (Haha, who am I kidding) but after reading this latest article:
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-10-09/treloar-wasnt-a-priority-for-giants-says-manager
His manager appears to state that the coin on offer from the Giants wasnt good enough, he put forward what he believed Treloar was worth, the Giants decline to agree to it on the spot so he started contacting other clubs.
Now is it safe to assume he started contacting clubs at the start of the season? Mid season? At the conclusion of Round 23? Because the article reads as though he had a deal on the table from Collingwood well before the end of the year.
Of course, we've seen things like this before. And its believed that Dayne Beams manager approached us (Or vice versa) and asked for/was offered a deal. Should the AFL have something in place that stops player managers from essentially signing their clients to other clubs before the official trade period begins?
Just how much power should Player managers have? Its considered immoral for clubs to talk to players before their contracts/seasons finish but is it not the same for player managers?
