One person's trash is another person's treasure. You can find some stuff being thrown out. Found an awesome cabinet once but was nicked when I went to take it haha. I think people horde more than they think which is why hard rubbish is good. A good, thorough clean of the house is always fun

US did so on 9/11 by closing their airspace. Doubt their land borders remained open the rest of the day

This is a translation of the Libération editor Laurent Joffrin’s op-ed.

The barbarity of terrorism has just taken a historical step. A massacre coordinated in the heart of Paris and the Stade de France was conducted with cold determination, in order to kill as many as possible.

Even at the height of the clashes linked to the Algerian civil war in the 1990s, France had never experienced this level of violence. And it is France, its policies and its international role which are targeted by the killers. Unlike the attacks on Charlie Hebdo or the Hyper Cacher, which were precise in their execution, tonight’s attacks are acts of indistinct cruelty unleashed to inspire terror across the nation.

The sites of the attacks were all dedicated to entertainment and friendliness, were purposely in the line of fire, as a way to underline the fact that French people are now under menace in their everyday life, as they simply go out with friends.

We are horrified in front of the vastness of this massacre, and compassion for the victims is the most humane and immediate reaction to have. We first and foremost think of the victims and their families. As for the rest - it has to focus on cold blood and civism. French society should arm itself with the courage to not give an inch to the killers, and has to show vigilance and the undying will to face the horror with the force of the law and solidarity.

The Republic, its mobilised state and the law will take on the battle without trembling, with great efficiency. It is impossible to not link those bloody attacks to those taking place in the Middle East, where France plays its part. Our country must continue its action unblinkingly. Only our country’s unity, as with stand strong and voluntary and carried by our values, will allow France to take its greatest challenge.

That was the Eagles of Death Metal, this is another band that I personally talk to on FB from time to time, a band from Paris, France called Temple of Baal.

But I am glad that the Eagles of Death Metal are safe though, great news.
 
My heart goes out to the people of Paris, I am still in disbelief that we live in a world where you can be killed just for going to a concert, but this is the nature of the enemy we are dealing with and I think some people, particularly liberals, still don't fully understand the evil that they represent, not that I can blame them, it is frankly difficult for us to comprehend. We need a co-ordinated response from the civilised world to defeat these bastards. They must be stopped, otherwise horrific attacks like this will become more commonplace.

We had this discussion after the Charlie Hebdo massacre and unfortunately, it is the religion that is the problem. Nothing against normal followers of Islam, as I know many would never, ever condone what took place in Paris, but you have to understand what fundamentalist Islam represents. These nutjobs are willing to die for their so-called god because they think that a thousand virgins are waiting for them in heaven. It's sick and it's screwed up, but that's what they believe. To be clear, I am NOT talking about most Muslims as obviously this has nothing to do with them. The problem is those who invoke religion to spread intolerance and fear.

I'm just a BigFooty mod, I don't have all the answers! Fighting terrorists is a different kettle of fish to dealing with opposition flogs, though it's debatable who has the higher IQ, a typical ISIS recruit or your average Hawks fan :p
 
As someone who was in Paris during the last attack and the unity rally afterwards its a city I love as much as I do Melbourne, this today made me sick. But as I have said to friends of mine - I won't accept anyone who says they are doing it in the name of religion, all religions are as bad as each other on this front - this is straight out cold blooded murder and they are using others to hide behind that fact.
