I like Danger, he's one of my favourite players at the moment, but this is a sport where 22 take the field each game and losing one player won't destroy us, Hawthorn proved that last year when they lost the best power forward of the last decade, got practically nothing in return and still won the premiership. It's simply the nature of professional sports that players come and players go, so it's best not to get overly emotional about it.

What concerns me the most is not the prospect of losing him but the possibility that some club might offer him a contract like Franklin got from Sydney where the offering club isn't afraid to cripple themselves for the foreseeable future salary cap wise just to get one of the best and most marketable players at present, resulting in us not being able to match it and leaving us with nothing but the compensation the AFL gives us, which is nowhere near his value.

Not sure what Rowie is on - he says Danger is on the front of the Geelong calendar, which he isn't.

Lingy: "I haven't heard much. My sense, my feel from afar is that I'm erring to him staying... Whether he stays or goes I don;t know, but having gone through all that [Walsh] if you put me on the spot I'd say, "Stays", But I really got no idea"

The thing about Danger on the Geelong front of Calendar, was a joke!

What's there to protect? If he's going he's going. It's not like it's a secret that Geelong are after him, and Lingy saying, "I reckon he's gone" is going to upset the negotiations
Ok, so he's not out to protect Geelong's interests, but some people on here think it's plausible that Danger, Roo, Fages and everyone else involved is keeping the news that Danger's staying quiet, so the AFC can go on a recruiting spree?

I'd be far more inclined to believe this if they took the same approach to out of contract players at other clubs - Henderson is in Carlton's, Adcock is in Brisbane's, and as some bellend pointed out earlier, there's half a dozen guys in Geelong's who won't be playing in 2016. Danger seems to be the only guy who's been left out.

I'm not sure what people aren't understanding about it not being created by, or having anything to do with the AFC. It is a calendar created by a third party company under license from the AFL, that features photos of Adelaide Crows players. Doesn't Adcock being in Brisbane's tell you that the club doesn't have any input into it? It was a club decision not to offer him another contract, so I doubt their marketing department would use him as a player on the cover if they had anything to do with making it.

Hypothetically, lets say the club does have something to do with it's production (even though it's been established that they don't). After remaining tight lipped about Dangerfield's future all season, why on earth would they give confirmation one way or another to a third party company?

Dangers one of the biggest guys in the AFL though, so it's a lot more noticeable than Henderson or Adcock.

How good would it be to see the AFC Twitter account post the itshappening.gif?

Not gonna happen, but I'll keep wishing for it like I wish to win the lottery.
Rather they posted the Danger Zone gif
