Well we have seen over the past 3 years that Essendon are not known for taking any responsibility for their woes.
Interesting he said that the CEO was in the room at the Press Conference because they were worried about what he might say about the umpiring.

Very ordinary performance by Hird.

Most people view disposals/possessions/touches as the same thing - getting rid of the ball. Officially though they are different.

From Champion Data:

Disposal - Legally getting rid of the ball, via a kick or a handball

Possession - When a player grabs the ball with a reasonable amount of time to dispose of it. Includes ground ball gets, marks, handball receives, effective contested knock ons and frees for.

I don't understand how in 16 weeks they haven't been able to improve this. The kicking out from a point rarely leads to more than a 50-50 across HB. Similarly we can never clear the ball smoothly from the defensive stoppages.

One of the coaches should have been able to put a finger on it to address it by now.
Yeah spot on pj
The kicks out after we've conceded a point have been ordinary.
We never move the ball quickly enough after a kick out. It's just a long bomb to lobbe and westhoff.

So remember when a port player kicked it into our mate Nicholis the scumpire? I thought that was meant to be a ball up? A la another port game where there was a boundary kick in.
if the ball bounces off the ump its play on, if the ump marks it like he did v carlton its a ball up.

So Sportsbet ream you only cos of disposal count, not posessions -_-

The difference is the scoring accuracy. The bombers should have smashed us in goals, but thankfully they missed.
