Review Round 21, 2023: Box Hill Hawks v Footscray Bulldogs, 12 August 2023, 2.05pm @ BHCO

The Hawks are back in action after a late season bye with a home game against the seventh-placed Bulldogs. The Hawks go into the game sitting in third, with a half-game break on fourth placed Brisbane Lions. The Bulldogs sit equal seventh, with ten wins from 16 games, and are six points clear from 11th placed Richmond as we head into the final couple rounds of the home and away season.

As mentioned just now, the Hawks had the weekend off last time around, but the Bulldogs had a solid 66 point win over North Melbourne last round. North Melbourne actually led for most of the first half, but couldn't maintain their lead as half-time drew closer. The Bulldogs trailed by 14 points at quarter time but turned that into a 10 point lead at half-time. After the long break, it was one-way traffic for Footscray, as they put their foot on the accelerator in the third quarter, keeping North Melbourne scoreless and kicking 7.4.46 in the third quarter to put the game beyond doubt. Charlie Macissac and Caleb Lewis each kicked three goals for Footscray.
