JM, your current side is a lot better than you think. When they all perform on the same round (hopefully this week) BANG you're back, baby!

Its frustrating mate cause they just haven't all performed on the same round, hence I haven't really had a great scoring week yet.

Wish I had the same confidence you have in my team. ;)

I look at my team and think "gees it should be doing alot better than it is yet it continues to spud up!"

Webster at D4 has been a shocking mistake on my part, same as picking Leuenburger as my starting R1.

Losing Enright then Wingard and then Mummy hasn't helped either.

Here's hoping this is the week when they all decide to pull their finger out and shoot me up the rankings a bit. LOL!

Everywhere I go, it seems like no one is considering Cox in the rucks?

Hasn't missed a game in 4 years.

Has averaged 107+ in the last 3 years including a 122 average in 2011.

Doesn't stuff up bye structures like Jacobs/Goldstein do.

Has potential to post mammoth scores. For example, 171, 149, 158 last year. A pair of 141's, 149 and a huge 215 in 2012.

And he hasn't played as bad as everyone is saying this year so far despite his average being down. Sure, he got a measly 63 against the Dees, but the 77 against the Cats can be excused because the Eagles kicked NO goals in 3 quarters, and I can pretty much assure that wont happen again. I doubt any ruckman could get close to 100 with their team being smashed like that.

And the "he's getting old" argument just doesn't work. I've said that to myself in the last 3 years but every year he just keeps going. He might be 32, but last year he was 31, and the year before that he was 30.

So many issues this week for me - namely Hanley, Mumford, T.Mitchell and Rohan.
I think I've just about locked in Hanley --> Swallow.

Not sure what to do next though?

Mumford is my best performed player in a weak area and will only go up in value when he returns. I also have Currie and Dericx as cover. If he misses 1-2 (as per GWS) I'd be inclined to keep him on the bench. However, he is injury prone and is likely to miss 3-4 or more in which case a trade to Jacobs (or Hickey) comes into play (just can't carry the scores that Derick/Currie will dish up). I had wanted to wait until Saturday night and if Currie gets a decent score I'll keep Mumford (loophole) for an extra week to learn more about his injury return. If Currie goes low I can still trade to Jacobs. Problem is, if I end up keeping Mumford it will be too late to trade out Titch/Rohan and too late to trade in Fasolo or Lloyd.

What do poeple think?
1. Trade Mummy to Jacobs? (and wait a week for Rohan to Lloyd and Titch upgrade)
2. Trade Mummy to Hickey? (and wait a week for Rohan to Lloyd and Titch upgrade)
3. Trade Rohan to Fasolo (review Mummy trade after a week)
4. Trade Titch to genuine forward premium (review Mummy trade after a week)

Overall score is my goal.

Id keep hanley, rookie defenders far more likely to get a decent score than a rookie ruck is

Nope I've had him since round 1. So far paying off and pretty happy with his consistency

I reckon Cox will be too up and down this year IMO.

With NicNat, Sinclair, etc all playing in the same side as him he just doesn't have the freedom to get the huge scores anymore or to consistently score 100's.

If NicNat was gone for the year though I'd be the first to jump on to Cox.

NicNat will get to full fitness and start dominating again at some point during the year which will then limit Cox even more I reckon.

Another stat this year is that both his good scores have been over in Perth yet both his bad scores have been over here in Victoria.

Maybe Cox is only going to be a Perth specialist this year. :p

Hmm. Last year they always had 2 ruckman every week. Now they have 3 almost every week. Hopefully they only name Cox and NicNat so the decisions a bit easier

I have Cox. One thing that stood out to me in selecting him was his durability, with Sandi as R2 I wanted someone who will play every game. Nic Nat being underdone made the call a little easier, hopefully he misses a couple with his achillies or whatever his injury is. If Cox avg 95-100 playing every game I'll be happy.

Ended up going Hanley -> Swallow and Rohan -> Fasolo (looks like a solid F6 atm). Possibly could look at Bob Murphy before lockout.

Thought about keeping Hanley but would lose 40-50 points every game he misses. Will bring him back in after his bye and price drop.

It's still very early in the season. My M2, Swan is averaging 85. I started with Walker who scored a 62 then got suspended. SMitchell injured and didn't play Rd 2 as well. Their Def replacements scored like 40 each. My M3 Murphy spudding up the last 2 weeks with 70's. Like you I started with McDonut. I traded Cox to Mummy only for him to get injured a week later. Chappy injured and didn't play last week his E scored 60. Titchell spud. Yet somehow (and I have no idea how) I'm currently ranked 1100 and my team is only average at best ATM. So I guess I've had my slice of luck already. Really at this point of the season your team is no crappier than mine. 26k spots diff for only 400 points? You could realistically make up more than half of that just in one round and be in the top 1k in 2 weeks with the team you already have if most things go right for a change. Sometimes trying to make shit happen too quick backfires. Last year I was averaging 2300+ at this stage only for my scoring to drop of to less than 2200 a week once I had a "complete" team.

Yeah forgot about losing Sam Mitchell for a week too so I can add that to my list aswell. LOL!

Looks like you've had your fair share of bad luck too Gingy. Didn't realise that there is only 400 points separating us, interesting!

Its funny isn't it that you'd think upgrading your team is supposed to make it score more points but then it doesn't.

In my case though I feel like I am a bit thin up back so I want to address that area sooner rather than later.

It will be another line pretty much out of the way where I can then just purely concentrate on upgrading my mids throughout the byes.

Always good to go into the byes with a plan I reckon.

No cash in the bank before trades?

Have you seen Mrs G's Def? Swallow, Grimes, Suckling, KK, McDonald, Langdon, (Langford, Georgiou)

Arguably one of the weakest Def 6 I have seen on BF yet they're averaging 650 per round which is more than Gingy's star studded Def 6 which is averaging 646. :rainbow::drunk:

Hey guys what are you thoughts on Fasolo? should i get him or is he going to be a burn man?
Do you guys also think i should go T.mitchell-> Pavlich or keep Mitchell for another week

Fas is 211k and has a B/E of -50. Even if he spuds up, he will make $ so hardly burnman material, unless you expect him to be a Top 10 Fwd premo by years end. Take it for what it is, $ to be made and better than starting Taylor/Impey/JKH etc

Titch > Pav is way too sideways IMHO. (Unless Titch get's dropped or Greenevested) in that case trade!

Yeah I find that absolutely bizarre to be honest.

Ok... where to start...

Webster has to go - he did not look like getting anywhere near the ball on Sunday, just does not look right - real shame after his NAB games...
Tempted to move him into MID for Crouch via Langdon.

Other issue is Mitchell - another horrible score and the worst part is I have not had a chance to see Sydney to figure out why, I'm guessing too much time forward in a losing team? Combined perhaps with 2nd year blues? Not too sure what to do about him - think dropping him to Fasolo and pocketing the cash... but concerned about how many Rd 8 players that leaves me with... especially with Llyod to come in next week for ZMerret. I'm at 10 already without any of these trades!

Alternatively I could miss Crouch and bring in Cripps next week... but I might be doing that anyway if Tyson drastic slows his mooing... hmm...
Might have to skip on Fasolo in favour of Lloyd...

Thoughts?
