Boogard has always been a good CB. Last season he just acted like a spaz far too often.

The Wellington goal was 100% his fault. Half assed lunge that didn't even manage to throw him off his stride, let alone stop the counter. Track the man, if you can't track the man, have to commit and can't take the ball, take the man and the yellow card. This is defending 101.
He might be ok as a midfielder, but he's a ******* terrible CB and that's where Gombau insists on playing him.

agree with this. i feel he's a really good defensive midfielder, but he definitely struggles at centreback. however he's more mobile than a few defenders in the past, and should be fine once he learns the position properly, if he does.

He's been one of our best players this season. He and Boogs have formed a solid partnership at the back lately. Malik is the reason McGowan hasn't started for weeks.
Everyone was poor prior to Wellington's goal, not just him. The counter attack never should have happened that easily in the first place. Should he have taken the man? Yes. Not doubting it was a mistake by Ozzie but saying he's a spud is too harsh.
