-- Regardless of what happened after you left, you became an idol there. It was a very important time in your career, and for the club as a whole as well. --

"I once was, yes. The situation's changed now, for the fans. The receptions I've had in recent times haven't been the best, but really, when I put myself in their position. I understand completely. Because of the story they were told, essentially. There were people involved, who didn't have the best intentions, people who deliberately told the story a certain way, filled it with lies. But my love and my gratitude towards the fans will never change, ever. It's the place where I spent the best years of my career, or certainly some of the best, some of the happiest, where my son was born. It's a place I only have great, wonderful memories of. Nothing will ever change that. Someday, perhaps, they will understand, change their minds about me. I would hope so. But regardless of what happens, it will always be a special place for me. I would love to go back and take my son, and show him what Anfield is like. I would love for him to witness it."

* this pisses me off. There's no story that can make it OK. We didn't want him to leave. I don't care what he thinks we may have promised/committed to him, it doesn't change the fact that he pushed for an exit and wanted to leave the club. * him.

Also the Suarez rumours are bullshit, he's performing brilliantly at Barca, just in a different role.

Milner has chased money throughout his career. Nothing wrong with that of course, just the way it has been.

I doubt he would play many (if any) more minutes for you than us. Who would he replace in your starting XI week in week out?

He wouldn't get in our starting XI and would play a similar role he has done with you guys. If it's consistent game time Milner is after he should look at clubs like Southampton, West Ham etc etc. He'd be a nailed on starter there but his wages would be significantly less than if he stayed with you guys or signed with us. Perhaps Arsenal would be an option if they get rid of Arterta as expected. Same problem though he won't be getting regular game time there.

Skip to 1:30 (3rd goal), look familiar?

Love how the commentator says that it's a young team. Well yeh, its an under 21 game so of course they're going to be young.

No Europa league will be a blessing for us .. Beating Man City on the back of a trip to Turkey having played 120 mins was huge. All out for an assault on the top 4 and FA cup ..

I hope BR starts his strongest line up .. he could then rest/manage a few for Blackburn

----------------------Migs-------------------
-------Can---------Skrtel-----Sakho----- [Lovren can then start for one of the CBs in the Blackburn game]
Sterling/Lallana----------------Moreno-- [Manquillo can start at RCB for the Blackburn game]
------------Hendo---------Allen----------- [If fit Gerrard can start for the Blackburn game]
-----Lallana/Sterling-----Coutinho------ [Markovic can start for the Blackburn game]
------------------Sturridge----------------

We must NOT be complacent .. I'll take any win .. My prediction: 2-0

I like this. I think we have to start Sturridge. Unfortunately that means that someone is going to drop to the bench.

As much as its a problem, it's a good problem to have. When you multiple players that are deserving of a starting spot means that were in good form and we have decent depth. Better then recent times that's for sure

Suarez rumours laughable. Just destroyed City on his own last week. Plus they have a transfer ban to contend with. There's absolutely no way Suarez is going anywhere until the next World Cup at the earliest.
Yeah it's obviously bullshit but I just like to dream about him coming back :)

Luciano Vietto's agent says that he's spoken to us. 21 year old Argentinian striker who has 18 goals & 8 assists in 35 games for Villareal so far this season, won the La Liga Player of the Month award for December, and as an added bonus, Spanish paper AS are reporting that he has a €10m buyout clause. Fits the mould pretty well in terms of what we'd be looking for in a forward from what I've seen.

I like Dybala & Lacazette too but with the hype around them at the moment and the likes of PSG & United sniffing around, I don't think they'll be moving clubs for under £35m.

Milner is better than people are giving him credit for. He's played for England at every level from U-15s to the World Cup team (even though he wasn't getting regular game time at City). He has dead ball qualities, great passing and crossing, good attacking instincts, can score goals, can defend and has an engine like Hendo. Glenn Roeder said he was the hardest-training playing at Newcastle, and he was both a 100m champion and cross-country champion at school. He can play anywhere in midfield and City have used him up front too, while frustrating him enough that he let his contract run-down. So he is a BR player through-and-through.

As for Moneyball, he was topping the chances created per minutes, in the first half of the league season. In terms of British midfielders I'd put him well below Stevie, Lampard and Bale, but he's more consistent than the Arsenal mob and what Lallana has shown so far.

As for Moomba's claim of his chasing money all his career, I think this is as close as we'll get to Moomba admitting Man City have more money than sense. Milner played for his hometown club, Leeds, then went to Newcastle when Leeds were bankrupt and was happy to accept a shift to Villa to get more gametime before Newcastle started playing him regularly. He eventually moved to Villa permanently and was their player of the year (and PFA young player of the year) in 09/10. A 28.5M move to City happened next where he's often appeared for less than 90mins.

The only potential thing stopping him being a Red next season is age. He'll be 29.5 by then, so it will be his last big contract but we're getting him on a free so you don't lose cash on that. 4.5 years younger than Stevie, so 4 potentially great years, especially when you consider him being underplayed the last 5 years. (And Moomba if you do read this - how will you make your home-grown quota?)

Don't even think about putting a pornhub link in this thread. Don't care that it's only a video of the goal, the other content on that page is not for this site.
What is that website about Jatz ? How come we cant put links here?

I dont think we're not giving him credit. Im pretty sure we have all said he is an excellent footballer but that he will face the same problems at Liverpool that he has at City, and that is game time.

He is not a DM. Lucas is far superior in that role. Our box to box will be our captain next season in Henderson. If Milner was to sign, he could certainly do a job in there if Henderson were rested or injured. Milner would certainly play before Joe Allen.

But that's it really. I cant see him playing in a wingback role as he has no pace. If we stick with the three at the back of course. Then there is the two AM's but that is covered with Sterling, Coutinho, Ibe, Lallana, Markovic etc...

Im all for bringing him in. Would be a fantastic squad player. But I doubt he would come knowing he will just be a squad player like he is at City.

Can you stop being such an uptight butthole? You're easily becoming my most hated poster, even moreso than Dylan8
