Football character; Shane Crawford & Mathew Lloyd

You are a w***er because its fine to criticise but if you are going to then who do you say is better and why? Lloyd is known for his training ethic and football character -- doing every bit of preparation to the letter. The fact that he is so strict on his goal kicking routine is an example of this and would be one of the major reasons for him being one of the most accurate full forwards of all time.

Besides if we believe what we are lead to believe and that post was what the recruiters actually use then I would suggest they would know best -- footballing character would be one of the more difficult thing to judge based on what we see on field and would be more to people who see behind the scenes.

If Buddy took at leaf out of that book it would be scary.

Sensitive little Vegemite aren't we?

No wonder the game's biggest diver is your idol.

Matthew "we'd be playing better if I was in the team" Lloyd is full of himself and it sounds to me like you are too (full of him that is).

I can think of plenty with more character than him. Players that prepare just as well off the field and also carry themselves with class on it. Belting people with a plaster cast, diving for free kicks, backing out of contests holding his face like he's been king hit . . . you're really struggling if you think he's a bloke with character. Probably says more about you than him TBH (especially given your opening remark)

Robert Harvey is one you should look at. In fact it's embarrassing to even compare him to a prick like Lloyd.

Some great opinions. Hard to pick just a few.

But when I think of the perfect footballer, I tend to think of a player that could play in every position, yet not be beaten..........where ever he plays.

At the Swans the man is Goodes!!

Ruckman, midfielder, key position backman, key position forward, tagger (when plays on Judd) can run, can mark, can basically play where the coach needs.

The only other one that was of similar talent was Kouta.
I can never forget him at the "G" one day running down the wing picking the ball up one hand. Awesome & sent a chill down my spine when he was at his prime.

Next in line.......Buddy. I know he can kick 150 goals in a year but geez I'd love to see Clarkson let him loose in the midfield!
He'll tear the game apart there as well.

So they are my 3 all round perfect footballers of all time!!
With an anticipation of greatness from Buddy!:thumbsu:

For all intents and purposes:
