I post these rants, Gero disagree incoming

Conte has this rant, Levy sacking incoming

I disagree with your thread because it is a s**t thread. An attention seeking thread.

We will again finish precisely in the range we’re expected to, where we belong and where a club of our stature sits. The poll was s**t because all the players presently do play for a top 6 club.

Conte’s ranting is inconsequential. 4-7 is where we will finish and that’s where we will again next season and likely the season after that.

Isn’t that his point though…

Exactly, it’s a mentality that has engulfed the entire club. Meanwhile their North London rivals who they’ve laughed at for years and finished above last season are on the verge of winning the league.

Conte has been like that since he joined though, he’s as much the reason for the lack of confidence and belief in the team, he’s been slagging off the entire organisation since he got there.

Dont think he signed up for 4th to 7th and was sold a dream that us fans also want. But never eventuates

Crossroads moment. 14 months into Conte with an option to extend for next season.
If the plan is to back Antonio then all good.

Year 1 into the project with Perisic, Kulusevski, Bentancur and Richarlison being a good start. Albeit some misses also, but who nails every transfer.
Focus on RWB, CB and CAM in the next two windows and see what happens.

Conte said pre-season and has stuck to it that they're not a serious team this season, and that's true.

But this is all on Levy. Back him and the project could work in 1-2 seasons.
Can easily see this being done on the cheaper options and fail because Conte needs quality. Levy 101.

As for this; grain of salt for JD. Means well but no scooby.

Literally your first post on this thread. What has changed?

Certainly doesn’t look it based on the OP. Just some wishy washy statement of nothingness.

But if we indulge what you’re getting at the real question should be how does one get there. And get there with the intention and framework to stay there. That’s the hard part as five richer snd better resourced clubs are all pondering this same thing.

And this is where our OP ties himself in knots. If you’re a club that’s in Europe each season and thus competing in 4 competitions you can expect 50-60 games a season. So on average 25-30 games at home. That’s not a lot of use for a £1bn stadium for which 2/3 at least is still debt you owe. So why relentlessly mock the club for whatever non-football activities they host that brings in additional revenue? Seems like smart business. Extra £ in for very little effort.

But Chelsea in the summer shows precisely why climbing near the summit as we have is easy. Taking the last steps and reaching the summer is hardest part. Only 1 can do it and they’re all working just as hard to do it, and in CFC’s case doing so with the reckless gay abandon of a new owner who just bought a club on the cheap. If Potter or someone else can make a good portion of those signings work the climb to the top next season becomes oh so much harder.

What we realistically need is to back a manager in the transfer market. Conte is probably the first in a while where we have tried to do that. But he will leave.

So for his successor, take some time and choose wisely. Back them in the market. And stick with them and back them for more than just 24 months. The short termism, and revolving doors of managers isn’t working. And our last two are serial winners.

very little. He still hasn’t got a clue.
Conte however has changed. At the beginning both he and Paratici spoke non stop about multi year project and not being ready to succeed this year. Which is all probably true, but now he’s just torching the place on the way out.

And over 20 years an 15 appointments. We've done this well, once!

If it happening for another 20 years got you to sod off and follow someone else I’d almost suffer it.

I doubt you bring up irrelevant crap from 20 years ago when dissecting why the Blues have been s**t for the last 5 years. You’re not hopping on the Blues board blaming Thursday’s draw on the failings as president by Jack Elliott.

In that same 20 years they’ve steadily climbed the table from 2001 to 2010, and from 2014-now made top 4 a most seasons occurrence. Hence why this thread is on your mind as we’re not progressing past that 4-7 ceiling. Quite hilarious in that context that you bring up our 20 years really.

The manager doesn’t sign so he can join along for the ride, it’s his job to buck that trend. What’s happened before him is irrelevant to the job he’s done. He got bundled out of the cup by a lower league team, knocked out of the champions league in the most meek way possible and he’s the one that has the team crumbling under pressure and playing turgid football. All he’s done since he got the job is moan and complain and absolve himself of any responsibility.

Hes moaning about the mentality of the team but he’s been there for over 12 months now, and it’s no wonder the mentality of the team is crap when he’s spent his entire tenure telling everyone what a s**t club Spurs are.

In the end, I don't mind if Conte doesn't bring success, if he does change the culture and mentality of the club then that is a success as well.

This sounds like a club a little closer to home at the moment

I would say he has tried but giving some home truths along the way. But with 10 games to go his finally realising its well and truly not something he can solve

No manager can sort this mess out.

We are still fighting tooth and nail for the same s**t Jol, Mido, Dawson, Zokora and YP-Lee were, with Conte, Kane, Romero, Son and Porro.

Like Conte said. This club doesn't want to play for anything meaningful and under stress. It likes playing for meaningless easy consolation prizes. That's why nearly 20 years on from Jol and his bunch of battlers who didn't have a single world class talent in the group (Davids was well past that, and Carrick not even close yet) we are still in the same spot clamouring for 4th with our greatest ever player, his trusty sidekick who would be a club top 20 all timer and a proven quality manager

2 weeks ago - world class manager gives honest rant about the club under its current owners

Sunday - sack the manager

Tuesday - sack the women's manager

Wednesday - director of football banned by fifa for corruption charges

More importantly we need a proper football director and club philosophy that is aligned and adhered to for the longer term.

All 4 will have failed in the environment we've had since Paul Mitchell left in 2017 or 2018
