It's not there anymore, but: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/join-power-and-proud-now.218031/

It looked like a slightly reskinned version of TPFP and had links to all of the player archive stuff and everything. They used the archive with absolutely zero credit to TPFP. It was disgraceful.

A couple of years later and Sharon Wingate was a moderator on TPFP.

Good God. I remember how over protective she was if you had a debate with her son she would jump in at a million miles an hour to defend him...I just use to get sick of him and that other poster, Harro something arguing all the time with personal attacks, and then they would have a threesome

The infighting between the 3 or 4 different supporter groups the club has is ridiculous. Some of the stories I've heard....

In the 70s there were 2 cheer squads too ... its ridiculous

I had a similar thing where I logged in one day (after posting exclusively on here for a little while) and found myself banned.

I'd previously been a moderator on TPFP as well.

No word, no way of finding out what the issue was, nothing.

Meanwhile, the Wingates are there sucking the life out of the forum without anyone batting an eyelid.

At one point the TPFP white screen of death perma ban with no explanation or option for recourse was a rite of passage for those on BigFooty.

I coped one without any logical reason.

True enough. Much later I received an apology and an invitation to resume there, but I never knew what went wrong in the first place. Or if I did at the time of being kicked off it wasn't much and I didn't remember what had happened by the time I received the apology.

I certainly miss TPFP. I still preferred having a central page showing all the recent threads across all boards. Not having that is an absolute killer for this site.
I've recently switched to using tapatalk instead of web browser on my phone to read BigFooty and they actually have a feature that does this called 'Timeline'.

i remember the ongoing battles between the cheer Squad and the Outer Army, i dont know the politics behind it but i got so sick and tired of all the BS that went on i gave the site away.......it would have been a terrific site if it wasnrt for all the "in- fighting"

seemed to shut shop quickly never to be seen again

Last couple of weeks I really missed TPFP. I noticed the difference between a Port-only forum vs a forum like BF which is open to supporters of every club.

Yeah I hate it too........I constantly get harassed by the girlfriends of opposition supporters wanting to be with Port guys. At first I was flattered but now I'm too tired to keep up with demand.

I trust that is your concern too?

It's a demanding task...but someone has to do it. We've got your back.

I enjoyed TPFP it was much easier to get an argument on that site and for all the disagreements I had with other posters I was never cautioned or banned. I always found Vi pretty reasonable to deal with and willing to listen. The big plus for TPFP was that it was solely a Port site and that had advantages.

As the TPFP was closely linked to the Outer Army I often wonder if that group is still active. I went to a few OA pre match functions at the Strathmore when we first moved to Adelaide Oval but I have not had any e mails this year. I see a few OA flags at games and assume they have some input into staging the marches to the AO but the group does not appear to be as organised as it once was. I used to enjoy the inexpensive fan oriented BBQ's before games at AAMI and perhaps not being able to hold these at Adelaide Oval has affected the group's viability?

As I understand things problems arose when the PAFC decided it wanted more say in the Outer Army activities. The Club was prepared to give official sanction to the OA but this came at a cost. This caused considerable in fighting among OA Committee members which was a pity because as an autonomous group the OA was a good rallying point for supporters.

Rap, the Stratmore functions have stop because of poor attendances. The Outer Army BBQ's have stop too due to the SMA having all the say. We are trying to organize Outer Army bbq's at the Game Day Village and that we are still waiting on. If you need updates, we have a facebook page, a twitter page and a internet page. We're still making flags for game day and we're doing a yearly quiz night upstairs at the Port Club. We also work closely with the PAFC and Cheer Squads to see if we can help in different way.

Yes, thanks for that update PP. The problem with AO is that it appears far more commercialised than AAMI. There was room to have the BBQ at AAMI but it is hard to see how you could organise a gold coin BBQ with all those commercial outlets in close proximity not to mention the SMA's attitude and ACC red tape- but good luck.

I went to the White Marquee area on Sunday for the first time this year. It was a shock as it has certainly grown in size and now has commercial food outlets near the entrance. Still the cheapest place to get a beer though.

A reasonably priced BBQ washed down with a cheap beer at the White Marquee and the SMA can get stuffed.
