Surely the Motlop compo will be same as Trengove and net Geelong a second rounder after theirs.
Depends on the contract really – I'm just going off that thing on twitter. Nick Bowen is reputable but no one can know for sure until everything is signed and submitted and the AFL announce what the compo is.

28 for Saad
2018 1st for Stringer and 26
11 for Smith and 23.

Take 23 and 26 to the draft. Get Starcevich and Bailey.

Win 2018 premiership.
Yeah, I ain't trading next year's first.

Trade period is a week too long.

Have 2 trade periods.

1 after the season for a week including the weekend, finishing at 5pm on a Monday.
2nd in March when a team ascertains that certain players might get better opportunity elsewhere rather than wait 6 months - 3 day trade window.

Maybe just Colyer for 30
Yesterday one of our list managers stated we won't be trading for players, unless it is Ah Chee, which we have offered our 4th round pick for. The club wants picks and to improve it's draft position, and is clearing the decks of older listed guys. Seems we are going through a semi list turnover, so Colyer doesn't fit with that strategy.

All the noise is from a few media figures suggesting it as a possibility for Essendon, but from all indications WC won't be active in trading in players.

After hearing your list manager im dead certain you wouldn't entertain pick 30 for Colyer. And anything lower than that and we wouldn't bother trading him anyway

I think they have made a realistic assessment of where the clubs list is. It's an old list that is mid table. Rebuild now and shake up the coaching box, or face a harsh rebuild down the line.

Sounds like our short to mid term strategy is to go to the draft during the next year or so, and hopefully rejuvenate via youth to add some spark. Otherwise we would have been hard at Wilson and Rockliff. Trading in guys like Redden, Jetta etc. hasn't worked, so even though they may come good, it is time to focus on the draft as well.

Connors just baulked on SEN when Ox said "Stringer had chosen Essendon". He said that wasn't the case, that we would probably like him to get there but we are keeping our cards close to our chest.

It's Connors we're talking about. Essendon would not announce it unless they confirmed it.

Fair enough. I wasn't really sure of your list situation but that makes a lot of sense.
