Would have been happy to have him as an assistant coach too. I mean it makes sense to pick up former senior coaches as assistant coaches if you can as they may not have succeeded as a senior coach but the reason they were usually picked as one was because they were an exceptional assistant coach.

That’s an awesome hire, I heard he has a kid finishing year 11/12 up here so may be why he wanted to stay in NSW over moving for a job elsewhere

I wouldn't say 'lucky'.. Id call it as the result of a very well run club.
We now have three senior coaches in our coaching staff,, all of whom have taken their side to the grand final
