Yes, you might want to break down the hazelnuts into quaters or breifly zap them in a food processor for a few seconds. Toasting them before you do that is nice (couple of minutes in a frying pan)

Hmm. Can this be successfully made with either a tofu or mushroom substitute? Or does it require the flavours of the sausage and fat of the meatballs (fat being a carrier of flavour) for it to work?
