Surely the AFL aren't stupid enough to talk about equality and then turn around and put a pretty much guaranteed finalist on the Sunday?

Then again, it is the AFL. I wouldn't put anything past them.

They'll play us on the Sunday and we will end up playing North the following Friday (for our home game of course...)

That is not possible. If we play Sunday in Round 23, we will most probably play on Sunday in week 1 of finals, but there in no chance we would play Friday in week 1 of finals.

Not only on a Sunday, in an interstate ******* game. If they would do it to anyone they'd do it to us (tongue in cheek of course, they will put us in on Saturday, bookmark it).

The reason for this round is to benefit finals playing teams. They should make a deal whereby they can play two games on the Friday in this round. Having one Melb game and one interstate game on a Friday would work just fine, if it only occurred in this round of the year.

No teams that are pretty much guaranteed finalists should play on the Sunday, let alone teams that have to travel more than two states away.

This is a big test for the AFL and equalisation. If we are lumped into playing an interstate game on the Sunday before the finals whilst we are curently sitting in 5th (and still a top 4 chance), it will be an outright farce and show exactly how far we have to go before our club is treated fairly. The Sunday games must be Coll vs Ess and Melb vs GWS, and if they need a third game then it must be Adel vs Geel. We've earnt a Saturday game by our results to date, nothing else should be considered.

Am I right in guessing TV rights will not allow two Friday games? It would be ideal to do that, as we have to travel.

If they were serious about being equitable in any way whatsoever, they would have put Fremantle on the Friday and us first thing on the Saturday. Both of us have to travel (which is clearly the most important thing), and it looks increasingly likely that both of us will have earned a home final.

Saturday afternoon will be too hot in Bris, it will have to be a night game. I'd be happy with that.

Why carn't the league play two games on Friday night have our game well starting time 4:40 p.m Friday night they play tiger and North after wood starting time 7:45 p.m

Footy Classified last night they had wossname the AFL head honcho and he said finalists would be playing saturday
There is the option of 6 Saturday games and 2 Sunday games, unless broadcasting reasons forbid it?

What if we win the next four consecutive games? This is unlikely, but if it happens, we might well be in place for a top four spot (we'd be over 50/50 for 16 wins).

He said top 4 would be playing Saturday.

So at a minimum our loss to St Kilda has cost us a Saturday game in Round 23.
