Seriously Triggy? Why on earth has he not just left this alone? Or is this just PR exercise to please the disgruntled 'members'?

As much as this is a non issue to anyone with half a brain, the club had to come out and make some kind of statement that they were not pleased with his behaviour. It's about the least strong statement the club could make saying he was a "bit silly". They have to appease all members including the handful who find this offensive.

It is just ridiculous that during a time where a Melbourne player is allegedly being investigated regarding a machete attack or recently an ex AFL player is jailed for repeatedly assaulting his partner, that an issue like a bloke skulling a beer dressed in his boxers to celebrate a premiership is actually considered a scandal. Does anyone recall how Rooch reported the alleged actions of certain Port players in the early 2000's?

"At the moment it looks like a silly action and the only other thing that is in our minds clearly is it's another silly action," he said.

"Bernie will be dealt with strongly on this one way or another because it's inappropriate to be in a public place ... like that," Trigg told reporters on Tuesday.

Wasn't really in a public place though, was it?

He doesn't need to be dealt with strongly - we banned him from playing in the final itself (which was harsh, but understandable), now he's not even allowed to celebrate with his mates?

It wouldn't have rated a mention if it were anyone other than Vince. The problem is that Vince's rap sheet is as long as his arm. That gives the subject legs, where it would normally be forgotten inside a single news cycle.

He must have a short arm.

Broke curfew
Was with a mate whose mate pissed on a pokie machine at 6am in his leave.
Drank a beer in boxer short.

Next underbelly perhaps?

What's the email adress to send an email to the club? Think the more of us that show support the less legs these kinds of "incidents" can grow.

so the question has to be asked

who banned him from playing and why?

Sando said he couldn't play in the cricket final after Bernie approached him. Although he did clarify to say that Bernie never asked to play, only to go watch which he was allowed to do.

That's just the list of incidents from the current pre-season - and only includes antics which have made it into the public domain. Don't be fooled into thinking he's some kind of angel - Vince has a seriously long rap sheet & I suspect that Triggy is serious in suggesting that patience is starting to wear thin.

The guys living his life.

In reality he hasn't personally hurt anyone, I can't believe the amount of s**t he cops, it's just pathetic and I feel sorry for the bloke, he probably has an addicted personality like Cousins so he's obviously going to be out there compared to some of the other lads.

It really needs to stop, celebrating a grand final victory in boxer shorts...that's just harmless stuff to be honest, it was in a licensed hotel, I don't see the problem.

News just to hand - apparently Nikki Noo was spotted thieving the CCTV footage from the hotel in question. "Research purposes" was the reason given.

Thieving! I'm a good girl I am! ;)

On a serious note, compare this incident to the Irish recruit from Collingwood out at 2 am on a Saturday night. Which is the more concerning to a club? This is pretty much a nothing incident and is a horrible lesson for anyone wanting to play AFL. You will be severely restricted from doing anything even remotely silly, as a way to let off some steam or having some fun with friends, even if you think it is in a 'private space'. They have to continually monitor their own behaviour at all times, which is exceptionally trying.

so the question has to be asked

well Rucci said he was banned but the Triggy said he isnt. Who do you think might know the truth?

I know Triggy reasonably well, he didnt say it but I imagine what pissed him as much as anything would hvae been receiving a please explain from the AFL so quickly after sending them a broadside on Friday.

I love that he did publicly question the "source", their real identy and their motive.

On the Rush Hour today Roo & Ditts said they have the person's name (it starts with an "R" - ie RUCCI!!! haha. Roo asked if it was a Ricciuto..) & their address. They said for the people to call up & give them their side of the story, but, of course, no one called...

They should name & shame!!!!

Got any evidence of the antics that have not made it into the public domain?.. If not I suggest you should probably stop typing garbage:)

re: Vader (cant be bothered quoting)

I know he is not an angel and not trying to paint him as one. He is definitely one of the more outgoing guys on our list. My point is this (and the casino incident) are unlikely to have any effect on him on the field so what's the big deal.

If he does anything that puts his recovery or playing ability in danger in his off time we should make a big deal about it. If he does anything illegal or morally questionably lets put the heat on him. But lets be honest we have all done worse things than drinking a beer or two in our boxers as part of a team ritual, or been with a group where one member went of the rails after a few too many. The guy has not done anything of Fevola portions like being drunk out of his mind on national TV or urinating/puking his guts up at a local night club so we and the club should cut him some slack.

And in regards to unknown event, we could say that about all our players and it would be true for some and not others.

Of course not.. I live in Canberra where news like this isn't even a blip on the radar. On the other hand, are you seriously deluded enough to think that he gets caught out publicly every time he does something wrong? It's more likely to happen about 10% of the time.. OK, 25% given his high profile. So.. for every "event" which makes the news (of which there have been 3 this year alone) there are 3 more which go unreported. I'm guessing the club would be aware of around half of them.

That doesn't fly either, given we saw what he was capable of in 2009 when Goodwin kept him on a tight leash - and what he produced in 2010 & 2011 when left to his own devices.

If anything the opposite is true - off field antics are a good indicator that his form will be rubbish. Keeping him on a tight leash is the best way of ensuring that we get the best out of him on the football field.

What was the third, I can't remember?
