Azza Martello has recruited very well this season to add to last seasons list - Ryan Driscoll, Sammy Hobley, Jason Ferraro, Grossy (returning player), Luke Walter (Dromana), would be the standouts. Should be pushing for a finals spot - probably 1-2 talls short of a top 4 team - that said, they will be a very fit and quick team.

I saw that last night - they have recruited very wisely and some very good players to boot. Top 4 is a realistic goal considering all the effort put into recruiting over the off season.
Had a hit out v Parkdale last night and from all reports did very well with a fair few players unavailable and injured. Next Wednesday is another twilight match at Heatherton, should be an interesting game to watch to see how they are coming along.

Anthony Kelly (ex. Chelt, Edi Asp) had a run around for the Bloods last night apparently. Would be a good pick up if he decides to pull on the boots for Mordi. How did big Killer go Chaddles?

Saw Kelly at training Tuesday night and looks like a very classy player - great skills and looks as though he has a good footy brain. He would add great value to the side.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see the game due to prior commitments so I can't comment on Killer's performance, look forward to seeing him in action next week v Heatherton.

I will go out on a limb and say that Mordi will be a surprise packet this season and push very hard for a top 4 - for the first time their will actually be a lot of pressure on the firsts players to perform due to the depth of the list. One weakness will be the strategies of the coaching staff which should be sorted by start of season.

PS - go the NSW Blues - 45th Shield title

Mordi to be on top after thumping Highett by 20+goals.Will be a first to see them on top can't remember ever seeing them in the 4.

Good luck to them and especially to Hads and Dos.

What is the currency at Mordy this year?

Is it cold hard cash... OR.. cold hard IOU?

Go the Vultures!

Add Antrobus edi Asp, Kelly DeLa Salle, Long Frankston YCW & Adrian Matthews YCW and Brock Baker returning all will be top SFL players , they will be a top two chance, speaking to the inner sanctum they could have up to 10 new faces this week.

Mordy must be looking at top 4 now after thumping Highett who weren't as bad as expected.

Highett stuck with Mordi in the first quarter - Highett did look quite good then Mordi seemed to clicked up a couple of cogs and did it quite easily after the quarter time break. The top 2 ruckmen were out on the weekend with one due back this week, and Shane Antrobus should make his first appearance next week - very good signs for the Bloods.

Good day for the club with 2's team pumping highett by 60+ points - shows that the club will have a lot of depth this season which they haven't had for a very long time. There would have been probably about 8-10 players that have had seniors experience in last weekends side with more players expected to drop back next week.

Did greg townsend play on the weekend Chaddles??

if so how he go??

Towna played in the magoos and was easily amongst the best players. He always finds a lot of the ball in that grade and worked really hard. Like a few others should get a taste of senior footy if he keeps putting in solid performances like the weekend. Nathan Stockley also killed it and should be in the seniors sooner rather than later.

Great start by the BLOODS and great to see a different side in the 4.However i think the Mordi juggernaut might come to an abrupt halt this week against StKilda City.If they can get within 6-7 goals then they could be finals material, thoughts?

Mordi had a really good win over Springy D's who never looked in the hunt. Still room for a lot of improvement with injured players to return, and couple players from the 2's who should be in the best 21 by the end of the year.

If the conditions are dry on the weekend, they would need to get within 30 points to be considered a real threat for the flag I would think. If it is wet I would give Mordi a real chance at winning.

How can you consider yourself a threat for the flag when you are trying to lose by only 30 points. Nobody can be considered a threat till they beat City plain and simple

Settle down there Mr Football!!! It is a PERSONAL opinion not the teams KJ!! Of course they will be going out with victory in mind - whats the point

Premierships aren't won by winning one game in May, a realistic goal this early in the season is to be competitive against the benchmark of the competition - especially considering the clubs past few seasons.

Your obviously Mr Experience in footy aren't you.... Having played in a few premiership teams where you go through a season getting beaten comfortable by the hot favourites of the competition then winning the granny - have also been in the exact reverse position too. Sometimes you can learn a lot more about a team from a respectable loss than a win.

Quality and depth of list has improved out of site - had a great spread of goalkickers last week which was a good sign. Longy was fantastic last week, the way he reads and anticipates the play allows him to break up forward thrusts, and set up attack from the half back line.

Will be a great test for the club this weekend, disappointed I won't get to see the game.
