can confirm smith signed for newlyn yesterday. Has been playing in essendon & district league for the past few years, even though he is 39 now should be very handy pick up. also rumoured to be bringing a few recruits with him.

its true. the 2 brothers are tristan and shannon batten. and nathan waights. how do they go drummer? and how does aquilina kick his goals what i saw of him he doesnt have much size
I hear Waubra will be set for a cracker of a football trip next year. Rohan Brown has been very generous in donating the cash he received for doing the bottle mart adds. He has quite the voice, rumour has it he may be teaming up with Brett Lee over in Bollywood for his next single.
Heard on the weekend that Waubra have signed a gun onballer from Donald. Can anyone confirm this and can anyone confirm what sort of a player he is? Are there any more on the way?

C'mon Learmonth, get your hand off it. You have made some comments lately that make sense... next thing you shoot down KEVIN BRUCE for suggesting that your club is on a recruiting frenzy spending over $100,000 next season. ( and fair enough, thats a lot of money )He would cover the loss of Danny Liston then who is playing for East geelong.
Also from my records Trent Nesbitt willo be staying in Cairns next season and not returning. He and a former team mate of mine plugga are getting a house tohether in Cairns...
Speaking to a guy from darley, Sam Newton was very happy to go back to Darley and play as long as they matched his payments from Hepburn... Darley were prepared to pay $150 max, and wernt in the ball park. $600 per game at Hepburn. So ild be suggesting Newton will be playing at Hepburn again...
Also Timmy can you confirm if Andy Mckay has had a geep brought for him..............I find this very hard to believe, but it was stated that Hepburn has helped him out in the purchase to keep Darley & B'Marsh at bay who went after him pretty hard this year?
I couldnt see James Aquilna playing at Ballan, Melton would do everything to keep him, and he is too good of a player to drop down a level at his age......
Im sure all players are looking forward to a well earnt break from pre-season, especially the older players, it doesnt get any easier, and I can vouch for that.
BIG RUMOUR. Ex Melbourne mark of the year man, Sean Smith playing assistant coach at Newlyn. Can anyone confirm.
Sounds like a desperation recruit. I don't care how good he WAS at 39 he is well and truly past his best. Why not develop kids instead of geriatrics

So please don't make yourself look stupid, suggesting that we bought Andy a jeep.. i know you said you find it hard to believe, but you did write it. Hope that is cleared up.
Top 3 ? He is by far the best, the one and only year 2007, that he spent overseas, was the only year we havnt made the GF, during Sam's 5 years at Hepburn. We only missed out in the Prelim against Daylesford by a kick.... who knows , had Sam been playing we may have won that day.Timmy are you able to confirm the below response from a darley person on the Ballarat Thread. If true, would be a big loss as ild rate Newton in the best 3 backman in the CHFL...
Dryden & Urch are signed sealed delivered.
Newton has not missed a night of training yet, don't know whether the ink has dried though.
Was joking about Fiora, not sure what KA has heard, but it sounds good.
Cousins was committed, but he got drafted.

Pretty damning stats... thats how good Sam is.
True Sam hasnt missed a training session down there, he told us that he wanted to do some training with them to keep fit, up until Xmas. After 5 gruelling years on the track, Robbo has rewarded our seasoned multiple Premiership players with time off until Jan.. They have been doing their own thing. Only the younger players have been training since November. ....
I know exactly what the situation is with Sam, ( maybe we should buy him a jeep, hey Learmonth ) Got to say its very interesting reading everybody's comments about him. Only time will tell.
Wouldnt say the best, there are plenty of players that have played at a higher standard then him in the CHFL and on better forwards. Until he can consitently play at a higher level and beat the best he will not have fulfilled his potential. Weatherly used to kick massive amounts of goals in the CHFL but failed when playing in a dominant side like Sunbury and really only played 2's football at North Ballarat and SANFL. From my records Newton didnt play too much senior footy at Darley and was a 2's player. At his age, he should be challenging himself at a higher standard... Come back to the CHFL when he is 30. I guess he has something to prove to his home town and former team mates at Darley......but more importantly can he play good footy at a higher level..Yet to be proven... As you said Timmy, only time will tell.
U shouldnt have to worry with him leaving though as all Hepburn players have been signed which I recall you saying in a previous post? (There;s sarcasim for you) That was done before the finals last year? Except Toby Hughes, who must have been missed as he has been training at Daylesford from what im told?
Also what type of vehicle does Andy Mckay drive.......It wouldnt be a geep would it?

So going by your argument of playing at the higher league, Shaun Smith will be head and shoulders above everyone else next year? Played against the best over a long period.Wouldnt say the best, there are plenty of players that have played at a higher standard then him in the CHFL and on better forwards. Just a little hypothetical for you Mr Sheen. If say a Learmonth or Newlyn or Ballan for example decided it was all to hard in the CHFL, so moved to Lexton or MCDFL, and won a flag, would anyone in this league think highly of them. NO. So that is why the Ballarats, Redans, Sebastopols etc over here do not rate your football club. Your spa neighbour is completely different however. They may have money, but at least they work thier ar*e off to get it. Unlike your club which just waits for the next millionaire to drive into town so you can make him president. As in Goulet and Thursk. For once in your life post something positive. You are a foul mouthed pessimist. Also, Sean Smith is confirmed as a signing, had a very reasonable AFL career with Melbourne and North, including 51 goals in 1995, so even though he is 39 and you dont know who he is, i will definately be taking the trip out Newlyn to watch him play. Good luck to him. Merry Christmas every body.Awesome pick up. Who the fu*k is he? Another cracker by you Big KEV. Keep rolling with these awesome rumours. You are pure genius
okay, havnt been on here in a while, so im just replying to stuf thats probably been worked out but i cant be bothered readin to check, darren didnt want dfords coach job as he has another kid on the way and it would be too much, so who ever it was bagging us for getting rid of him, seriously.
secondly, it wasnt me who made the comment about myself on the other thread, i havnt been on here in about a year so who ever replied to that can also get f**ked
