Good effort. Can't beat the umpires unfortunately. Good umpiring doesn't mean putting away the whistle in the last term.

Plain and simple... got r*ped...

Umpires cost us the game in the end... if we had lost by 3 goals then it wouldnt have made a difference in who won but by only 3 points some very poor decisions cost us...

Last 10 min there were around 5-6 moments that the commentators said "that should have been a free" and it was always for carlton... But eaglea got the only free in that time...



Even when murph got slinged by nicnat... no downfield...??? was that correct...????

I know right.

Major props to you guys. I'm not going to go into the whole "Umpires ****ed you over thing" because I was at the ground.

Either way, I went into the game confident but was smashed back to reality in the first quarter. Warnock battled hard, Murphy was good, Garlett got into the goals as did Walker.

Had a great time watching the game. Amazing atmosphere, amazing game and just a beautiful contest. Hope to see you guys in the finals next year because I sense this isn't a fluke. Maybe a new rivalry.

Please umps, if you pay in the back make sure it's IN THE BACK by a reasonable margin. Around the neck, same thing. It's the infinitesimal brushes and nudges that just ARE NOT impeding a player's efforts at the ball that should never be paid.

Maybe a quota system that the umps are never to exceed. It's got me ****ed.

I'd just like some consistency. If you're going to pay one free kick, pay it continuously for both teams.

Its hard when you go down by 3 points not to look back on the soft frees/ignored ones. Good luck with the next game. Enjoyed watching WC play this year.

The Walker situation is one they usually let go, although I figure the Eagles got a couple that would normally have been let go. We probably did too but my goggles did not allow me to see it.

They are usually red hot on holding the ball especially early in the game. Thought Lynch had prior opportunity just before the ball came into the square towards Walker, then held the ball, changed direction and was caught. Most times that would be holding the ball.

Didn't like the holding the man call on Simpson on our forward 50. Not really his fault the Eagles player did not maintain control of the ball. He certainly palmed it from one hand to the other and I am pretty sure they don't usually make us wait until he controls the fumble and then lay a hand on him.

Not sure whether to post this here or in the WA Blues thread, but anyway, massive thumbs up to the WA Blues supporters, you guys came out in full force and made the atmosphere at that game intense and it was magnificent to see.

Also, incredible effort by the Blues tonight, the team kept coming and coming, and I really thought we were going to lose that game in the end.

Thought Warnock played really well, NN/Cox didn't seem to have a massive impact on the game as some thought they would.

Even though he was a tad quiet, I still love Judd .

I feel aggrieved and hope that the AFL in return can go some way to making up for the diabolical umpiring last night.

One way is to give us the type of favours Collingwood and West Coast get in their draw..but in 2012.

1) the type of draw Collingwood gets where they play 1 game interstate per year.

2) gets the type of draw West Coast get where they play all the bottom four teams twice.

so for Carlton's draw next year I would like to see

1) 1 game against Collingwood and Geelong in the H/A
2) 2 games against Port, Gold Coast and GWS

I know you're joking Harmesy, but do you think it's a disadvantage for the Blues, playing against a fierce rival infront of 90k fans, twice a year?

I know the pies are top class, but the experience of those games, particularily for those younger players, probably had a lot to do with the stellar performance your team put in during other bigger games. Kids are used to "finals like" pressure.

WC bet us twice this year, and they've beaten Geelong. They're a better team and have had a great year

We all knew that the WC would get the rub of the green at home. I wasn't surprised.

I thought Davies was incredibly stupid in giving away that free, he should spend all of next year at the Bullies, lol!

We played so well, Robbo and Simmo where oustanding. He is the barometer of the club if he is hard at it then the whole club is.

We need to be a little more polished I50 and we definately needed our more experienced players in the back half, I am looking at you Marcus.

We are definately top 4 next year, and should be a big chance for the flag.

Oh and umpies, any chance Juddy could get a free for all the holding and blocking??

Would love to know what beep test Kade Simpson does. Bateman at his peak aside ive never seen someone put in such a consistent hard running performance on the wings of Subi Oval. Absolutely ran Gaff and co into the ground last night. Started of slowly but the pace he was running at in the 3rd qtr while others were tiring was mindblowing

Hard to believe that Armfield was on Embley last night. From the TV, all I saw was Embley getting the ball and wheeling around to dispose under zero pressure. Gibbs's class, poise and ability to shut down a player whilst using it well is irreplaceable.

Kreuzer's class and ability to manufacture something forward would have also made a difference.

Thrashed Carlos who had to pinch hit in the middle and play out of position.

Activating Tuohy earlier than we would have planned hurt our structure and ability to run the game out. They could just sag off our forwards and cut off our inside fifties with Thornton out of the picture.

I don't mind the umps putting the whistle away - IF they do so from the first bounce.


Maybe we could even take out some of the interpretations that harm the ball getter. It seems to me that once upon a time that if a player tried to get rid of the ball it was play on - a bit like when the tackler causes the ball to come loose. Now they are red hot on incorrect disposal except if your name is Lynch.

Mind you I do not want the perfect tackle to go unrewarded - to me it should always be a free to the tackler (even if the ball has been knocked out in the tackling action) if the ball holder has had ample prior opportunity or chosen to play on

Didn't know where else to post this but I have an outside of the box question?

Could it be a coincidence that the top 3 teams have had no more than 3 players play every game and we have had 7 play very game?

And that 7 being our core...

Geelong have had 0
Collingwood 3
Hawthorn 2

People keeping whinging about juddy but may he be just tired after a very long and amazing season and we just didn't manage him and the others well enough.

It's not a criticism just an observation in comparison to the top 3 teams in what the difference is.

We know that at out best we can match it with any team if are at full strength, so could it just be a management issue which has us peaking in September be the difference?

I would love to see all our stars play every game but the way how the game is now that might not be an option...
