Only listening to it on the radio but it sounds like good signs for Freo. Was expecting a bit more of a fight from Essendon in both matches, even if Subi is a difficult roadtrip.

Mundy, Barlow, McPharlin, Silvagni, Lower.

Griffin, Clarke, Morabito, Grover, Bradley.
Pretty good result then, apparently still injury concerns around Barlow, Mundy and Mora though? McPharlin and Silvagni will improve the defence a lot.

Who rucked for west coast in game 1?
Scott Lycett with Quinten Lynch backup.

Heard the commentators say Essendon were running 37% efficiency 3/4 the way through the West Coast game. That must have been painful.

Did Essendon spend all summer in the gym and not on their skills?

Certainly seemed that way, though you also have to take into consideration that as soon as we board a plane to Perth our heads explode and whatever basic knowledge of playing football we have gets lost in transit.

I think this was the dons practice match, going in very different this year in tha NAB.

Pretty much all our midfield, Watson, Stanton, Hocking, Zaharakis, Lonergan, etc was out v WCE, and most out against Freemantle too. Missing the front and end, with Hurley and Fletcher and Heppell out, and then resting Pears and Dempsey, Jetta and Davey through the games.

Looked like it was a "give everyone a new role, see how they go, and run a game out" match for us, not really about the score.

Still would have liked to see us do a bit better though.
