Not Sure at the Moment. Might be on the Bench.

My Mid Year All-Australian team (Collingwood players)
- Harry
- Sidey
- Pendles/Swan
- Cloke
If Lynch could kick, he would probably have 15-20 goals by now and he would be in there for me as well.
In what position would Lynch be contending? Because even if he'd converted his chances he wouldn't be in contention as a forward and is nowhere near as a ruck. Our only realistic AA players this year are:
- Harry (squad)
- Cloke (CHF vying with Reiwoldt)
- Pendlebury (centre with Mitchell playing off HB this year)
Lastly Brown would be in contention for the lockdown defender position if the AA selectors are doing their jobs. He hasn't been beaten once this year and considering they always pick one lockdown tall defender and Carlisle has CHB sewn up already (unless McPharlin flies home) its really between Lonergan, Richards and Brown for that FB spot IMO.

Still recon theres a chance for Swanny, he'll come home strong in the back half youd imagine.
Agree with the rest, especially Brown.. he's been bloody brilliant
Is this thread a joke?
He has had an average year at best. Is by far the most frustrating player to watch. Obviously has talent, but I believe he is being played out of position and is not a mid. The role that suits him most is the half forward pushing up the ground and then running his opponent back towards the goals where he can create and do damage on the scoreboard.
As a mid he looks too slow and doesn't apply enough pressure. If the year stopped now his name wouldn't even come in contention for a call up for AA, would barely be in our top ten players this yr and most have struggled. Perhaps this thread should be about Harry O, clearly our best and on form would be AA. A lot of our big name players have struggled this yr with the lack of support through our injuries. Cloke would be the only other that may be AA on form and possibly Pendles but at the moment that would be more on reputation rather than him having an outstanding year.
Agree with Leon magic. He is a crumbing half forward. In the middle his lack of pace and strength exposes us against transition teams.
A ruckman ran off him today, it was embarrassing.
If he didn't have such a good GF2 I would have no time for him at all.
Is at his best when our full midfield contingent is in and he gets to run around unattended.
You're off on Pendles we just mark him harshly!
His numbers are phenomenal this year he's averaging 14 kicks, 14 handballs, 13 contested possessions, 4 marks, 4.7 tackles, 1 goal and 6 clearances. Not only that, but he's been as consistent as ever with just two matches under 118 Supercoach points and he still managed 96 and 105 respectively in those matches. Not everyone is a wrap for Supercoach points as a basis for an argument, but I'm yet to see a better tool for judging a players impact on a match.
Also I'll be honest I'm not a big fan of his leadership, but he's stepped it up in that area as well.
Copy pasting some of what I've said previously on this topic:
I think moving to the midfield has helped his own personal development and game beyond measure and we needed someone to help fill the void of losing Ball. Had he not spent a year as part of the midfield group, he wouldn't be performing like he is now IMO. The experience of being in the engine room was invaluable. But HFF rotating in the middle is his natural position. It's where he got the 10 goals in the TAC Cup Grand Final, it's where he almost won the Norm Smith as a 19 y.o in 2010 GF2.
Sidey doesn't have great pace and isn't great 1v1 or on the inside, which means that his effectiveness for our midfield is limited, especially since Harry has started playing wing (and the addition of Young also). But his endurance means that he can push up the ground with his opponent and help out if needed, then get loose or forward of the ball during transition plays or turnovers and become a vital link up player or get on the end of good ball movement.
The fact that he's a good crumber is just icing.
The games I keep coming back to are the North and Richmond games. That's the kind of game he can produce when he plays mostly on the HFF moving up the ground and back with rotations into the midfield.
I don't think he will be gone. He is a very smart player around goals and needs to spend more time in that part of the ground once we get more of our genuine midfielders back.
I think he has been average all year, playing a half decent game against Melbourne isn't going to get me to say he is in form. Really disappointed in Steele in the last 12 months he has played, he is better than that.
I think he's been flying under the radar in most games. He benefits from Beams adding to midfield to utilise his kicking and push him up forward more but with our injuries he's had so much midfield time and a lot of his touches go unnoticed. I wouldn't go as far as the OP but I was close to making a similar thread to acknowkdge his contributions because I think he's had to change his role a fair bit and while not tearing games apart he's been very solid.
Loved that pass to Martin I think it was? Can't remember exactly but it was super good.
