Dank had input into Geelong!

No, it was a direct comment about the size and hardness of your players and how much that had changed since early 2007 into September 2007. While Robinson was at the club. And on the phone to Dank daily.
Geelong conducted a review at the end of 2006 after failing to make the finals. The previous two years had seen them lose a preliminary to Brisbane by 9 points and a semi final to the eventual premiers the Swans with 3 seconds to go. Geelong in 2007 was a natural progression after many years with a hugely talented list that had one bad season in between. It's not as if Geelong had come from nowhere to win the flag? The Cats were always on the radar for at least 3 seasons before 2007, was it really such a surprise?

If this is the absurd thinking people are having then the game really has been brought into disrepute by Essendon, and maybe they should be ostracised from the competition altogether because it's just getting ridiculous.
People love conspiracy theories. You will always have the unhinged. paranoid conspiracy theorists. They're the people who always try to divide rather than unite us. One team has made a mistake, not every team. The competition has to unite as one and this is why 17 other clubs have sided with the AFL, the Bombers need to rejoin this competition and be as one or find themselves cast out. It appears one man believes he is bigger than the whole bloody lot!

Hate to say it dude but that kind of attitude makes you sound like Essendon supporter...

How? ASADA has investigated Geelong. In 2007 Geelong players were routinely and regularly tested. Dank never worked at Geelong. Robinson had a different role at the club. Need I go on? This is all deflection from the pharmacological experiment at Essendon. Is anyone suggesting this occurred at Geelong?

I liked how the bit to prove he was on drugs, he's flexing. The others he's not. :D
My neighbour is a 70 year old Russian with flabby arms. When she flexes her arms muscles bulge!

Big deal. Robinson's sole job at Geelong was weights fitness. Only the club doctors administered medication. And on the premises.
So you think he was getting advice on how many reps Gazza should be doing to strengthen his pelvic floor? Open your eyes mate. It may be nothing, but he's attributed some of his success with Geelong to a biochemist.

Go on, explain what role the biochemist had....

There will always be suspicions and innuedno re Geelong due to their connections with Dank and Thompson, but the real issue is the here and now which is Essendon. Theres no evidence against Geelong, theres heaps against the Bombers.
You could say that the reason for the innuendo against Geelong is similar to the proof against Essendon.

From his office at Skilled Stadium, Robinson, the club's strength and rehabilitation manager, is in almost daily contact with Sea Eagles' fitness consultant, Steve Dank.
"It is satisfying to have had a hand in both and Steve has also had a big input here, even though he is not on the payroll here and never has been," Robinson said.
"We discuss ideas and philosophies and a lot of them are common to both the Sea Eagles and the Cats."
Robinson says the emphasis is on recovery, to be ready for games that are equally gruelling whether you are Geelong midfielder Gary Ablett or Manly fullback Brett Stewart.
"We make sure the players are not overloaded. People think that you have to continually train them hard, whereas, if you really consider it, a game is a training session," he said.
Now he has worked with both codes, Robinson says AFL athletes are aerobically fitter but rugby league players win out in the speed and agility stakes.

What type of advice do you think Dank could give Robinson? As I said this maybe NOTHING, but at the same time you never know.

You must have missed the Australian article from 2009 that said Robinson(during his time at the Cats) was in daily contact with Dank.
Was Dank present physically at Geelong? Was he actually down there working for them in any official capacity? Was he on the payroll? Is Robinson the monster and man responsible for the whole mess? There is nothing to suggest that Dank has had any input at Geelong what so ever, conspiracy theorists believe in a conspiracy because that is more comforting, it gives your average football fan a way out and an excuse for losing. When you have this sort of nonsense being thrown out there then yep, the game has most certainly been brought into disrepute and for that Essendon should be suspended from competition indefinitely!
The whole thing is ruining the game.

No, just referring to the 'we could never ever possibly have done anything like that' frame of mind that is dominating the Essendon board.

As I noted back in May when this angle was being discussed, there are photos available from back then which allow us to make comparisons.

How dare you bring photographic evidence that proves your point 100% correct into this thread.
I'm calling for a thread ban for you, you are meant to throw out wild accusations without a shred of proof behind them just your own opinions.

Should be easy for you to find it and produce it here then?

But no suspicion or innuendo levelled at Collingwood for being accused by Robinson, Dank and Hird of using HGH?

No, Dean Laidley said they specifically got massive during the 2007 season. We beat you at Kardinia Park early in the season then by the time the Qualifying Final rolled round, where you pimped us by 157 million goals, you'd got massive ... Laidley said it was like men against boys.

Interesting.
Funny you say that, because I watched the 2007 GF the other week and commented on how light some of our players were back then compared to their later seasons. Joel Corey, Bartel, SJ, etc all looked a lot lighter. Chappy was always a little ball of muscle, but that is his body shape. Even he looked lighter.

What we did look was stronger than Port Adelaide. Especially breaking tackles. Also faster. Dean Robinson can take some credit for that with his instense workouts. Keep in mind a lot of the Geelong of 2007 list was older than the Essendon list of 2011/2, so more mature bodies - less injuries. The thing about Geelong was it's attacking style was almost kamikaze back then and when it worked it was unstoppable until Lyon devised a game plan to choke the life out of it, and then we looked a little more beatable.

You're right it's a horrible mess and the Afl don't want it to get messier, hence the scapegoat. Don't worry guys your premierships are safe, once Essendon becomes the sacrificial lamb the rest will go away. By the way I don't think that completely unregulated advice from a rogue biochemist is particularly sound practice.

So he never worked for or at Geelong thanks for clearing that up ;):thumbsu:

Does it really matter if he was payed for his advice?

Theres suspicion and innuendo everywhere. That particular one dropped like a stone, did the EFC no favours at all. Mate I'm not having a go at Geelong, but Dank did spend time there and people will point fingers, regardless of a complete lack of evidence.

Well let's see at Essendon Dank and Robinson had carte blanche to do as they wished, at Geelong Robinson was overseen by Paul Haynes, Stephen Hocking, Neil Balme, Dr Chris Bradshaw and Dr Geoff Allen.
One of these teams had proper checks and balances in place to ensure that nothing untoward was done by Robinson the other is Essendon
