Happy to take Jones from the Bulldogs. Same old story, fits our list management strategy in terms of being in the right age bracket and is very talented.

Question marks around his application, but if the Macca and Mick are keen...

Please look after Jones for us, he's a bit slow when running off the mark, can take a mark now and then, sometimes tackles and has a derpy face while marking.
No... That sounds like the old Jones. The one that "used" to play for you guys.
He's coming to Carlton now. The new Jones is quick off the mark, takes spectacular pack marks all day long, tackles like a starved bear and is expressionless when landing from sitting on top of 4 pairs of shoulders.

So he couldn't get a game in a struggling Bulldogs forward line and you guys think it's a good move? Interesting.

I'll put money on comments like, "He's a dud" and "OMG, can't believe they are even thinking about drafting him" if it was Essendon, Collingwood or Richmond looking at him

The fist hidden in MM's stache will sort him out.

Not sure...the Doggies forward line wasn't all that functional.
He's a classic FF IMO. Don't agree with vital dread. Has good acceleration for a big guy. Just a small tank. Doesn't suit CHF. Nice set shot but a poor field kick as well.

He was drafted as a year 11 kid and spent his first year on the list on scholarship at scotch. Still learning. Ugh.

I hope we aren't contemplating using anything better than a second round draft pick on Jaksch, if it's not good enough to get the trade done then let him go elsewhere.

He hasn't proven anything at this stage of his career that would make me think he was worth getting into a bidding war over.

And Jay Schulz was spudding it up at Richmond when they were real shite…

For the right price, I'm all for it.

I would never say OMG...
I would.

The thing I'm excited about Jones is that he wants to be with us and sounds excited about it. That dogs fan is scared coz what there coach couldn't do to get the best out of him are worried that the master malthouse had a history turning players into better players.. next year Jones 5 goals and 12 marks vs the dogs ;)

THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING! BLUE BOY WAITE, DOING WHAT'S RIGHT!
Surely you guys can share the charity if the afl give you 27 for Waite and pass it on for jones???!?!? Don't be greedy blues!

Seriously though, jones is a very good get for you guys. He is ready to roll. Filthy he's walked out. We won't get near enough value for him. Crapola.
Always gentleman supporters from the Doggies who come onto our board from what I have noticed. A tip of the cap to you and your fine club who I have always had a soft spot for.

This deal is being floated on the GWS board:

GWS send Giles and Pick #21 to Geelong for Pick #14

Jaksch and O'Rourke and #19 to Carlton for Pick #7.

Pick #4, Pick #7 and Pick #14 to St Kilda for Pick #1.

Would we do that deal?
If I was Macca and Rogers, I would break my arm getting a pen to paper to sign that deal...

GWS send Giles and Pick #21 to Geelong for Pick #14

Jaksch and O'Rourke to Carlton for Pick #7. (exchange later picks if need be)

Pick #4 and Pick #14 to St Kilda for Pick #1.

Reckon that would be much closer to the mark and fair for all parties.

GWS lose #4, #21, Jaksch, O'Rourke, Giles. Gain #1, #7
Carlton lose #7. Gain O'Rourke, Jaksch.
Saints lose #1. Gain #4, #14
Geelong lose #14. Gain Giles, #21
Either this one or the other one... I would still be breaking my arm getting pen to paper...

GWS lose #4, #21, Jaksch, O'Rourke, Giles. Gain #1, #7 = why would they do this? They only move up 3 spots in the first round, and 14 spots from going early 2nd to early first round while losing 3 players? 2 of which were former 1st round picks!

Carlton lose #7. Gain O'Rourke, Jaksch. = get your head out of the clouds. All we swap is pick 7 for the former pick 2 and pick 12, when players already in the system are worth more than an early/mid pick

Saints lose #1. Gain #4, #14 = aren't they only interested in swapping the #1 pick for an established player? Even if not it's a god awful deal where they move down 3 spots and only gain a late 1st round pick.

Geelong lose #14. Gain Giles, #21 = probably the only bit that makes any sense. Shame this was thought up by someone with the I'm sure uses an EA sports playstation title as their basis for knowing how trading/drafting works!
