I would be pleasantly surprised if Marchbank slips to our 2nd. In fact I would be in a hysterical laugh for the rest of the year.
I think we might get teased and he gets taken 2-3 picks before our first 2nd round pick (Marchbank)

I hope Lamb & Ellis are gone before our 2nd round pick, would rather see another club take a punt on them

hoping we get one or more of McDonald, Menadue, Marchbank, Cockatoo, Hammelmann

would have me thrilled with the draft

We should pick up a couple of decent players with our picks and possibly more. I also like Menadue, Cockatoo, Hammelmann. I am not 100% sure about Lamb but he could be anything. I like Caleb Daniel and Touk Miller of the smaller guys.

I think we would be going for outside mids with the early picks considering that we have lost so much of that this trade period.

McDonald and Menadue are two I'd be hoping for with our first two picks, Cockatoo with our third
good way to start off the draft, only thing I'd concerned about Cockatoo is homesickness
big change for him

I would take best available KPF/KPD at 27 and 28 and best available speedy mids at our next 2/3 picks. Unless there is a massive slider.

Keeping in mind Brisbane got Taylor for late 20's pick last year, so we could still get some quality.

From my limited knowledge of the draftees I also hope we have a crack at these three - we may as well double up now that we are betting the farm on completely reshaping our list.

I heard a while ago we really like Marchbank but it looks like he might fall somewhere between our traded #6 and our current #26.

Only reason I wouldn't take Marchbank top 10 is because of injuries. Adelaide, Richmond, Fremantle, West Coast, Geelong, North Melbourne would all have their eye on a key defender and Marchbank is quite unique given he has the athleticism to play a variety of roles. Can play as the 2nd/3rd tall back or forward, he even played on the wing during the champs. I'd be shocked if he wasn't taken in the 1st round.

That's fair enough on Ellis and Lamb. I still wouldn't mind if we took Ellis, but only if Menadue was gone or maybe another slider.

Something's not right with Hammelmann to me and I can't quite put my finger on it. I'd only pick him up later personally.

I rate Menadue, Garlett, Ellis, Duggan, McClean all above McDonald. I'd grab two of those and look for McDonald/Ramsay/Hammelmann at our next pick.

I was pretty biggs on Vickers-Willis, but now with Biggs, I'm not so biggs on him any more who seems a similar type. Does that make sense?

Stating the obvious, but the "dalrimp' cant stuff this up. I want a repeat of the 1999 draft with Murphy, Gia, Hargrave and co draft Please :)

Don't get the Clem Smith love to be totally honest, I think he'll be a real slider. Don't mind Garlett though.

He's just one of those kids who understands the nuances of the game. Knows when to attack, when to defend, knows when he has to put his body on the line or when shape up to an opponent etc. A lot of kids struggle with understanding what is required of them at different stages of a game, but he seems to just have an intrinsic understanding of the way the game is supposed to be played which is very rare for an u18 footballer.

I don't think he is a player that will need a lot of 'coaching', though his poor combine effort says he will have his own battles to make it as a player. I also don't think his kicking is as poor as some make out. For our list, I don't know if another 177cm guy is what we need.

All very fair. He's certainly got attacking down to a fine art, but it's the combine results that really get me. He's never going to be a super tester but he has a hell of a lot of work to do to get his endurance up to scratch. My worry with him is that he becomes a Veszpremi type; all the talent in the world and a top performer in the lower leagues but just lacking the ability to get to enough contests to make it in the AFL.

For me, I see him as somebody that could be worth a punt as a 'diamond in the rough' type in the latter stages of the draft, but I'm not sure I'd be spending a pick too high on him. Where do you see him going?

Wasn't the BigFooty explanation for Brisbane passing on Hammelmann that he is not physical enough to take advantage of his height?

Anyone reckon we are a chance to get McKenzie and McDonald with our consecutive second round picks?

What about that little SA midget ? - shit he can play.
If he comes to us , the head gear doesn't come with him.

McKenzie is a poor mans Boyd
;)

Maybe you're right, so what do you like about Ellis? I don't think Lamb has the right attitude to best develop around such a young list

yeah, I've watched Hammelmann live 2-3 times and definitely think he has something to work with
but perhaps we could do better

I just hope that a few KPDs are there or KPP Swingmen
Morris been a veteran, Roughead dominated by the athletic Key forwards; really only leaves Talia & Roberts as our final hope in the future
and I'd still like to see Roberts trialed as a forward yet and get hopeful young gun KPD in the draft

Poor Dalrymple - He was probably gearing up for striking gold with pick 6, now the strategy has turned and he has to make sure he gets round 2 and 3 correct :)

He's under a lot of pressure now
I think you'll find he's pretty happy the way trade week went down. They all are.

I'm convinced that Corey Ellis will make it and with the success of Jamie Elliot it'll be interesting to see where Toby McLean goes. Doesn't help our KPD issue but if Talia and Roberts play well and get in, we're two ahead before we start. Just hope Roberts can put on some size and Talia and get some better skills. Wonder if we could tape them together to make a superstar.

As long as they play to their strengths they will be fine.

There are really only two smalls I'd be happy with. McLean because he is simply the best one to fit our needs, think a player similar to Robbie Grey (there must be few people making that comparison if Oakleighs talent manager says that comparison in an interview) around the ground who likes leaping on people's heads (not saying that he is that good but he has a higher ceiling than Lonie). I think he could bolt into the mid-late second round easily.

Agree with goodcop badcop that McDonald at our second is a little early he or Keenan Ramsey should be available at 39.

The second is Daniel... because he is an absolute freak.

He may jump on peoples heads every now and again but he isn't anything like him when he isn't.
