I don't agree at all. Caleb is much better performed as is Dahl.
Fair enough. They're just opinions. I've got to admit I haven't seen an awful lot of Petracca but the few times I've seen him he's been very impressive. Sounds like he's having a stinker against the Giants.

If one of our guys mentioned had a 10-15 possie game with half of them being turnovers our forum would pillory them for it.

He needs to show he's that good consistently. Until that point, he's unproven, and inconsistent.
I'm honestly flabbergasted by this line of thinking from dw. Petracca is a good kid but nowhere near consistent.

Then how can you possibly think he'd be in our top two mids?
Very strange.

From what I've seen of him. As I said, very impressive whenever I've watched him.
Nothing strange about that.

That's nice. But to say he's better than established consistent premiership players is where I take issue.
If you had said on talent there's no problem either.

One to revisit in a couple of years.

Right now that call was a fair bit off the mark but you could end up right.

He has potential but unfulfilled as of yet.

So does Zach Merrett get a fine or a week?

This is the one the MRP has been a bit inconsistent with. Zorko got a week for something similar, Cotchin and a few others have got fines. He'll get whatever Duncan gets, which I think might be a fine. Wouldn't be surprised if its a week. Real 50/50 one

AFL and umpires have absolutely no idea about the sling tackle rule. Ziebell and Grundy both bad (especially in context of Dangerfield) yet got completely different outcome.

One ump was saying he didn't see the Grundy one.

Incidents like this is why the AFL seem to be suspending anyone who pin the arms and don't protect the head.

I wouldn't say it was a malicious tackle and 2 years ago we probably would've said it was the perfect tackle. Probably gets a week based on the previous cases.

I'll say two

AFL is a beautifully ironic sport sometimes.

In the space of two minutes of gametime:

> Jack Ziebell complaining to an umpire about a dangerous play that gives a player concussion.
> Jack Ziebell jumping off the ground to attempt to bump a player who has already marked the football (as usual). Breaks his own ribs.
> Poor Jack Ziebell.

I agree none of those tackles are malicious but if they set the standard with Dangerfield (which was based on previous standards of this season), it seems to me the umps don't know how to apply that standard, or even know what those standards are.

That's very concerning from an umpiring point of view. I thought he said he didn't think it was dangerous. Either way, it's concerning.

He is however bravely back out on the ground. #soverybrave
