In a preview to a career he'd like to pursue after football, Michael Walters was today fined for setting up theatrical props on the half forward flank on Saturday afternoon at Optus Stadium. Showing a reckless disregard for the safety of his fellow competitors, Sonny started arranging and rearranging set pieces on the ground to the bemusement of players and spectators alike.
Brownlow medallist Adam Cooney who didn't watch the game, was obviously confused when he called for the star Docker to “get the flop out of your game” while speaking on Melbourne radio station SEN. Clearly he thought Walters had been charged with the same offence Geepong's Mark Blicav's was, earlier in the year.
How lucky was Sonny? Surely a $1000 fine is a light dusting of the wrist with a peacock feather for this heinous offence. What should his penalty be for deliberately introducing a multitude of OH&S risks to his colleagues and competitors workplace? Surely Optus is dangerous enough to their health already, without this teeny, tiny, weeny, irrelevant upstart causing them more grief?
