Id be astounded if essendon played hardball with Daniher, they've mismanaged him for 2 years. Bloke probably wants a fresh start, i think itd be beneficial for both partys. Essendon get pick 8 and maybe a 3rd either trade or get a decent young bloke, while clearing Danihers salary and the risk of him possibly not playing much if at all.

Sydney take all the risk here.

Here's a way at of looking at potential three-way trade. As you can see, not much flexibility for us to get others if we loose pick 8 for Papley and the Swans send their second to *

Essendon get pick 8 and 23 -- give up Daniher (values Daniher at about pick 3)
Sydney get Daniher and picks 39 and 44 -- give up Papley, 23, 40 and 50 (equivalent of 27 pick downgrade)
Carlton get Papley and picks 40, 50 -- give up pick 8, pick 39 and pick 44 (values Papley at almost 7)

Essendon go to draft with 8, 23, 29, 31
Sydney go to draft with 4, 39, 44, 47
Carlton go to draft with 40, 50, 67

Papley remains our main target. I'm sure Essendon will be asking for 4 instead of 8 - might be the sticking point.

8 for Papley is an absolute no brainer.

Sydney get Daniher
Essendon get 4 & 8 (which may become 5 & 9)
Carlton get Papley

Essendon might need to throw in pick 29.

Where’s my brokers fee?

Wow could Essendon win that deal any harder?

4 & 8 is massive, massive overs when compared to other trades that have happened.

There is no way Daniher is worth pick 4 & 8 on his own.

This looks about right and pretty realistic.

Also hinges how Sydney value Papley vs Daniher...they might think they are giving up a bit too much in this deal if they value them about equal.

Our academy includes all of these suburbs

Its a very large pool, with lots of growth areas and a wide range of nationalities. I just hope its around long enough for us to see some benefit.
I live in this zone. Most of the post codes on this list have been doubled up or tripled up on so the actual list is much shorter.
These suburbs include Heidelberg, Rosanna, Macleod, Watsonia, Greensborough, Eltham. Diamond Creek, Bundoora, Preston and the newer suburbs of South Morang, Doreen and Mernda.
The main suburbs with a diverse nationalities would be the Preson and West Heidelberg area.

Has Diesel ever caught up and had a chat to the umpires that robbed him of a third Brownlow medal?

And what does he think his average possession count would be in today’s game?

I saw that umpire near the botanical gardens when I was walking to the Carlton v St Kilda game in the second last round of this year.
Thought it was quite brave or stupid of him considering the daylight robbery he committed on diesel.

Sydney seems to be after another key position forward, Daniher is rumoured but if the Papley thing is real then why wouldn't Sydney be pressuring us for a Curnow/McKay??? For Papley they'll play hard and I'm not sure it's worth all the angst during the trade period to pull it off unless Papley is the only one we are left to go for from the plans.

Furthermore when you come to think about it, why would Cognilio, Martin, Jesus, etc choose us over Dogs, *, etc..... I guess it could be that we've had 4 coaches (not including caretakers) in the last 6 years... we've had 2 wooden spoons and continuously get rejected by high end talent to join us.

I think it'll take more proof than a feel good 2019 ending (Teague and some wins), a growing membership base to persuade some players in the second half of their careers to join us. This makes 2020 so vital to our future.. we must either make or be close to making finals or else within the fraternity it'll just feel same/same.

Probably because neither are interested in leaving while Daniher is apparently open to joining them?

Isn’t that what a contracted forward like Daniher would cost?

If I was Essendon and Sydney came to me with only pick 4/5 for Daniher, what’s my incentive to accept the deal?

Not one who has missed basically 2 years of footy.

Your incentive might be to cash in while you still can on an injured player, and Daniher may be happy to leave as well.

When was the last time any player was traded straight up for high picks like 4 & 8 without even a 2nd rounder coming back?
