For Dees, a situation that sees them bring in Langdon and Tomlinson and losing Viney would help balance their side plenty.

As for cost, I'd say a future first with a very early second coming back would be ballpark.

Trade 1: Viney, Pick 20 for 2020 First Round Pick
Trade 2: Martin for Pick 20
Trade 3: Papley for Pick 8

Then, we can get Cameron, Betts and Butler for late picks.

Depends a lot on the circumstances.

Martin has flexibility on his side, he's got a few different positions and can be shifted around within games, or down the track as the list profile evolves. The knock on him is consistency, and whether that can be improved in a stronger culture/environment than he's been in.

Viney is a very good extractor, and clearly has some strong leadership credentials. Lacks another position though, so the ideal scenario would be him playing the primary inside mid role, freeing Cripps up to be the second link in the clearance chain.

Both player have had injury issues, but I think they're more a concern with Viney due to the role he'd have to play.

Viney is also contracted for another season, where Martin is out of contract - that makes a big difference.

I think, nominally, Martin is worth more to us than Viney, but the contractual circumstances possibly flip them in terms of cost.

For me:
Martin is worth a late first, but should be gettable for an early second.
Viney is worth an early second, but Melbourne will probably expect a mid/late first.

Whitfield would be worth to GWS what Cripps would be to us in terms of loss. 10 first round picks thanks! One of the best players in the league imo.

In relation to the "duplicating rumours" issue - would it be unfair to ask the mods, instead of just deleting the additional posts, to also edit the original post to include a "Seconded by Blue__Balls", or add the second post as a "quote", or something along those lines?

That way when the mail is coming in hot from multiple sources we can easily see that and celebrate/complain accordingly, the tardy rumour posters can still brag if it comes to fruition (not that they should care about that...), and the thread stays nice and neat without 6 posts claiming the same thing.

Perhaps not. But those who get and give mail regularly are well known to do so. The difference being when someone else simply posts the same info, the inference is they are repeating that same info rather than saying it's from a different source. That's what the poster in question did until they clarified that point.

But, I'm not a mod here so that's just opinion and reading between the lines. The mods here do a great job. Spend some time on most other club boards for a comparison!
