No way is Butler worth 42.
Papley will get done contracted or not. Pick 8 is our starting point
Future pick for Martin is on the table
Betts will happen for alot cheaper then you'd think (both salary and draftpick)

Can we all take a breath and enjoy the sweet fact that we are getting very good players nominating and/or keen to come to our club?
Wasn't long ago that only players like Tutt, Whiley & Lang were approaching us willingly (and not the other way around!).
Not happy with people suggesting a first each for Paps and Martin, even more for Paley.
Neither are worth that in my opinion.
I'd be seriously unhappy if we paid that much contracted or not as neither have done anything of note to warrant that sort of price tag.
First are for quality mids and key post players only.
Good thing Dow, Setterfield, Sps, Stocker and Martin are all ready or close to being ready to step in.Only concern is we haven't addressed our midfield needs. Yes Papely may pinch hit in there, however Ed and Smurph aren't getting any younger.
Can't disagree with this any more. Each pick is for best available and needs. We are desperate for small forwards and sometimes you pay what you have to to achieve this. So what if they cost us a 1st each, if they kick winning goal next year I'm sure it won't matter what we payNot happy with people suggesting a first each for Paps and Martin, even more for Paley.

Gee the draft assistance the AFL have given the suns is ridiculous. Reckon they were rapt that we ended up winning 7 games.

Martin will be playing midfield and wing, but I do agree we're probably 1 class midfielder away. However by the time next year rolls around Stocker, Setterfield or Dow could be that player.Only concern is we haven't addressed our midfield needs. The most successful GC can become is to win 3 flags in a row. Lions did this and so what?they are now less dependent on the afl for assistance and they are in rugby dominant city/state. Surely you can see the idea behind helping GC get on their feet. Melbourne based clubs do not need the assistance. Afl has to reduce the number of clubs in Melbourne. If they relocate/merge Roos saints dees that would improve the competition and result in less poor quality games each round. Maybe merge one with GC and another with a tassie team and just get rid of dees all together. Problem fixed. By the way these are just my opinions. So it's a business then and not a competition.
OK, it's both but the same 'support' would not be afforded to a Melbourne based club, should it find itself in a similar predicament.
We know this and we know why, but it's simply wrong to pick and choose who you're going to help and to what extent you're going to help them.
There's no black nor white........just grey, grey and then some more grey.
What happens if Gold Coast become successful....like real successful and then maybe too successful thanks to all the support. What then?
Just saying that this competition is being manipulated and is compromised. People don't like this.
Anyone have any pills for memory? I keep forgetting to care. That would be worse...afl have to make it work now. It’s a city of ~600k population and an emerging generation of Aussie rulers. Give it time it will work.

I am hoping SOS can somehow turn pick 9 into both Papley and martin.
trade Pick 9 for two picks in the teens and then offload them to Suns and Swans
Like they were supposed to this year? SPS may stay in defence. Setterfield looks more suited to a wing. Stocker is only in his second year. Dow his third.Good thing Dow, Setterfield, Sps, Stocker and Martin are all ready or close to being ready to step in.

Even worse...Whiley and Lang rebuffed us strongly first time around.Wasn't long ago that only players like Tutt, Whiley & Lang were approaching us willingly (and not the other way around!).
let's rate every decision by sos that didn't produce immediate gold against the premiers......SOS and Co need to get better in getting quality players with later picks. Deluca selection is looking a little puzzling right now. Pickett and Stack were both taken with rookie selections by the premiers.
