Reading HS today says Boyd retired with 2 years to go on contract saving club 2 million— how come if buddy retires early swans have to keep that in there cap as they did with Tippett ??

Bulldogs didn't have to keep Boyds contract on the books because Boyd didnt get paid the money, both parties agreed to terminate the contract.
There was a writeup about it at the time.

So you saying all buddy and tippet money up front
There was a write up somewhere on BF that explained the Boyd vs Tippet situations and why they were different. TBH I cant be bothered trying to find it, it was in the Boyd retirement thread from memory.

Long story short, Boyd walked away from the game without being paid another cent.
Tippet still wanted what he was owed (or part thereof) and as such, that still goes on the books.

Lining up all of the comments coming out of the Swans makes for very strange reading.

They won't involve #5 for Daniher.

They won't trade Papley, so they won't have #9.

Is their public position that they'll get Daniher for a packet of chips and half a chocolate milkshake?

I'd posted a while ago - not sure about their management but some of their supporters are very used to these one -way trades where they get players like Buddy landing in their laps without giving up much.

Swans supported I know gloated over Daniher wanted to be there a few weeks ago but jaw nearly hit the floor when I said Carlton were after Papley - it was almost 'how dare anyone take our players !!".

Same as Geelong supporters and their management

Time we help Sydney get one over Dodo.

Papley and 5 for 9 and our future 1st.

Means Sydney don't hold two 2019 first rounders for Daniher. Once they get the Daniher deal done, we swap firsts back the other way.

How's Tom Browne going...North in the box seat to get Papley...nominated Carlton. Betts hits a hurdle in getting to Carlton...a day later...Betts is coming to carlton. At what point do you just give up your job because you're incompetent
Gcs think they will get more for martin next year as he is a free agent... not a free agent and out of contract now. Major toss bag tom Browne is

The AFL would have an issue with that, because we are involved... Sydney and Hawthorn or someone, it would be fine.
