My reading between the lines, it seems Gold Coast tabled the $3M/5 Year offer during our pursuit of Cogs.

When SOS went back to Ellis and Pask one assumes they said 'well here's the offer we have from Gold Coast - can you match ??'

Gotta ask why a player manager is shopping that theory around.

Is he trying to show that the Suns got a good deal and Ellis had options or is he being petulant because he stuffed up and would rather play the victim than explain his part in the deal with us falling through?

It seems quite unprofessional of Pask and as others said reeks of ass covering. A good player manager would simply say “we couldn’t work something out with Carlton but it doesn’t matter because he’s wrapt to be at the Suns and help them build to something great.”
Instead he’s making Ellis sound like someone who wanted to play for Manchester United but had to settle for Wigan Athletic and is kind of disappointed about it.
